When I first began enjoying and training with firearms as few years ago I rented a Kriss from a range down here in Texas. It was also the first full auto firearm I ever got to shoot and made for a wonderful birthday outing. I had the exact same issues Mr. Results had with the Kriss.When I ran it I kept ejecting the magazine by accident as I kept gripping it by the magwell, and shying away from holding it by the very VERY Short hand guard. I even have some video of me dropping the magazine and looking down at it like a dork. All in all Something I feel would be resolved by a handstop and a vertical grip. Not to mention a covered magazine release like some modern AR lowers have. Oh, and the training that Mr. Thumb reminds us that we all need. The one stoppage that wasn't user error was due to the cheap steel cased .45 the range used for it. Though that same ammo ran fine in a UMP I also got to enjoy. Still it was fun to shoot and taught me the importance of familiarizing myself with my tools. I'd also glady shoot it again if I didn't have to pay for the ammo costs. ^_^

I have a CA Compliant CRB-II 9mm which is no longer compliant since I fixed that upon moving to Texas. But, when I first took it out I did experience a large number of FTE and FTF. I found this was in large part to my thumb riding up and hitting the bolt catch/release thereby impeding movement of the bolt. The second part of the problem was the lube had lots of grit in it and nothing was cycling smoothly. I promptly took it apart when I got home from the range and discovered the lube problem. Completely cleaned and lubed it and could already feel a difference in the action. It was quite a while before heading back to the range but did add the Kriss Mk1 rail, Surefire M612U, Leupold LCO, Magpul QD sling mounts, Vicker's sling, and an A3 Tactical angled foregrip wrapped in HEAD grip tape. I also took the thumb stop and pic rail cover and installed them on the top rails: the cover spans the Vector Pic rail and Mk1 hand guard rail to lock them together at the top, the thumbstop is just in front of the cover and right behind the front sight. I did this to help make the Mk1 rail more solid and if you want to shoot thumb-over-bore you still have the thumb stop. Once properly lubed and my hands comfortably away from the controls, but still in reach when necessary, the Vector was just butter. Super smooth. No problems. In fact, the only problem was the 80 year old RSO trying to say I was firing too fast - while zeroing the LCO. Yeah, not going back to that range (not just because I don't live there anymore lol). I love my Vector, I understand the drawbacks of them especially in regards to the weight - it is a bit of a pig for what it is. But other than weight the problems can be mitigated with maintenance and an attachment. photos.app.goo.gl/32zCL9icbdVEwCK27

I can see a very specific purpose of this smg. vehicle crews and protection duty. it's easy to fit a folded Kriss next to each person in a vehicle. Exiting will also be easier with a smaller gun. In an urban environment where most protection duties will be, the range and accuracy is more than adequate. The ammo is also a lot cheaper than the 5.7 that a p90 would use.

Wouldn’t an mp7 be a better choice for that role, I can’t think of any benefits this has over an mp7. 900rpm is more practical than the ridiculous fire rate of the vector, 4.6x30mm is better at armor penetration than 45acp and it’s smaller than the vector if you fold the forward grip and stock. So what is the point of carrying this apart from style and giggle factor ?
@joshuaszeto2 жыл бұрын
@@Bingchilling_enjoyer I did a quick search and the cost of a round of 45acp is roughly around $0.35-37 per round where the 4.6x30 is $0.63. While I totally agree that the 4.6 is better at armor penetration, it's still not as cheap or common as the 45acp or 9mm (which I think the Kriss can also be chambered in). It would be interesting to see the groupings between the 2 variants of Kriss VS the mp7 VS p90 seeing as how all of them were designed for the same sort of role.

Not a single time were my hands/fingers and issue with the mag release or the bolt forward hardware. Maybe if you have giant sausage fingers this might be an issue, but for someone like myself that has big hands BUT not sausage fingers, this wasn't an issue at all for me. I paired it with a primary arms micro prism sight, with the tallest mount it came with and holy hell this thing felt great ergonomically. I think the Vector may have a place in checkpoint security. That fire rate is guaranteed to stop any car or suicide bomber in its tracks, and the .45 limits the over penetration factor if used with other vehicles or civilians around, and the recoil control limits the spread at that fire rate and likelihood of collateral damage.

I just don't think the extreme fire rate really helps anything though. You just burn through ammo so fast its ridiculous. Then you have to be either very consciously conservative with your trigger pulls so you don't run out of ammo, or you have to carry twice as much. The reason I say that is, if you fire a one-second or half-second burst, you might end up with twice as many rounds on target, the last half of those rounds would be wasted if the target is already eliminated by the first 10 shots or whatever
@geronim002 жыл бұрын
I did my military service -94 (with the swedish-k) and there was a rumor there that if you forced a spring from another swedish-k into one of these guns, it would fire twice as fast and you cant stop it from firing, even if you stopped holding in the trigger. It sounds plausible but I would like to see it in practice 😅

The issue is use case, and each of your firearms is designed for a different use case. The better comparisons would be with the MP-5k, the Skorpion, and other machine pistols. The Vector is a concealable briefcase SMG for executive defense CQB, I.e. spray down the assailants while making a fighting withdrawal. Is it a great gun? Probably not, but it has to be evaluated for its intended use. 9-Hole Reviews has a very good evaluation of the Vector for its intended purpose.
@BlackBladeGroM2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and the size comparison with an SBR AR-15 was dishonest. Vector is fully functional with the stock folded, while AR just can't. Also, 5.56 has both wack terminal ballistics out of a short barrel and massive overpenetration potential in SMG range. Projectile design can only do so much when you're trying to shoehorn a mid-century service rifle and its military cartridge into every niche you see. That being said, Vector is still less than perfect in a PDW\briefcase gun role. The weird operating system leaves the OAL\barrel ratio pretty weak compared even to a classic SMG layout, nevermind the mag-in-grip machine pistols, and the cyclic rate is still too damn fast, especially when you have to use 20-ish round mags to maintain a compact and concealable profile. A P90 would fit the same briefcase and have 50 rds and almost double the barrel for a bit weirder ergo and justifiable mass difference.
@urfork12 жыл бұрын
@@BlackBladeGroM my only contention is that the p90 isn't a bit weirder ergo, its atrocious. i hate the p90 ergo, but the vector is a pretty small learning curve and fits much more nicely, since it isn't as thicc
@CtrlAltRetreat2 жыл бұрын
@@BlackBladeGroM If you're comparing folded stock configurations, you'll need to compare them with side folder ars like rattlers and dissents. They still come in at about the same size with longer barrels and more potent rounds in many configurations and will net you a much better trigger as well.
@jojomaster76752 жыл бұрын
That's not a good comparison. The Vector is too large/heavy to be compared to PDWs like the vz.61 or MP5K. Concealing that thing would be pretty hard. For example, comparing it to the vz.61, it's basically twice the length and weight. Something like a 8" barrel CZ BREN 2 is a much fairer comparison in terms of size and conceabillity.
@detritus232 жыл бұрын
@@jojomaster7675 The Vector is only about 1.5 lbs heavier than the MP5k and only about 5 inches longer. The Skorpion is definitely lighter and more compact. However, the issue is use case and all three are designed for the VIP PDW use case. And, like the MP5k or even the MAC10/11 (or Micro-Uzi, for that matter), concealment is a matter of degrees, most are briefcase conceal rather than on-the-body conceal.

I feel like *MAYBE* everyone’s missing the concept behind PCCs with insanely high rates of fire: A very controllable weapon that can burst off 2-5 shots on target, and guarantee a very high probability of accurate hits. As demonstrated by the B&T, the KRISS and even the Swedish K are both quite accurate for bursting targets, while the traditional AR-styled PCC was quite lackluster in its performance, respectively. Personally, I’d feel more confident in blasting 5 rounds into a T-zone with the KRISS, over the B&T, or even something like a Mk18.
