Pink didn't give you first. Blue gave you first. Due to positioning this game was a standoff between you/blue and pink/red. You won because blue was able to outlast pink and red in the battle of wills. If blue gave up you would have lost. IMO I would have just cap run and avoided eliminating either player becuse i do understand where you're coming from, but your game hinged on blues decision every turn more than pinks last turn.

I agree Blue was there for him the whole game. Pink just quit at the end because it would have taken literally about 20 hours to get strong enough to win. Pink could have allowed Red to get stronger, so maybe red would go into yellow.

Blue was only there because he was forced to be there. Blue's play was mind numbingly stupid. The only thing he could have done worse was botting out or suiciding. It's hard to reward incredibly stupid play.

Blue was there Thanks to kylted. Pink would have killed blue a long time ago but the mutual need of kylted and blue kept him there. So I agree with pink second and blue third. Blue was going to be 5th and got 3rd. Also blue was very slow to see what Kyle was telling him to do to create that trading spot.

it feels like that purple was a second account for pink. Like when u said to pink to card block red purple did, And then from nowhere purple gives up his cap to card block red and gives it to pink

Purple definitely feels like a collab. The only thing that says otherwise is the fact that he was card blocking Pink for a very short period. But to my mind Purple could have done that AND kept his bonus, so it still feels really weird. Edit: AND he seriously screwed up the feed, letting Red get Purple. But he could just be a bad cheater.

You guys must be drunk. No way in hell was this collaboration. Those were plays by someone who was not that deep into risk strategy. Purple was blocking pink. Somehow genius to be not too obvious yet not good enough to put either in a winning situation. I am quite certain there is far less collobaration than risk streamers announce/report.

It may collab at first, but this theory gets nullified by the fact purple suicided into red instead of cardblocking red and trading with pink forever, also the fact pink didn't keep his killguard after suicide, not gonna deny still lil sus

Not being able to fit the whole map on the screen for Alcatraz drives me crazy, then I played it for the first time on mobile the other day where it fits great. Obviously it is designed with just mobile users in mind.

I personally would have given blue second just because they could've botted, but stuck it out all game and ended up saving you by giving you cards. Pink in contrast refused to work with you in card blocking red way earlier, made a lot of very poor choices that created the situation so I don't credit them as much for ending it. Regardless, I appreciate that you consider these kinds of things and ponder the moral dilemma of who should get the higher placement. It sets an amazing example for the community on respecting the other players.

you should make a standalone video of you and vampirechicken in a game of alcatraz with 4 randoms, have a community volunteer/mod help setup the game so you guys can get in anonymously to each other so then part of the early appeal of the video is trying to figure out which color is vampirechicken

Chicken only plays as blue... Hel literally messes up every video and game when hes forced to play another color because he thinks hes blue. :) lol its actually quite funny

I was the red player in this game, your right I did hate your cap! I also hated most of the game especially when I realised I messed up not hitting blue, must have just not expected him to have spotted it. I love the videos, big fan still can't quite believe I was even in your video let alone what happened in this game. Much love

personal opinion i would have given blue second there, even though you said he "had to give you cards" he didnt have to trade cards with you because he very easily could have botted which would have likely given you 4th maybe 3rd at best. i think blue stayed in the game beause he thought you would give him 2nd place if he helped you. he stayed for over an hour just trading with you. i dont think he would have stayed if he knew you would give him 3rd in that position when you could easily have given him 2nd. just my opinion tho.

Nah, Blue's stupid play in the first half cost him any rights to second. 3rd was honestly better than he deserved. If he was going to bot he would have botted early. The only thing that's really helpful that Blue did is not botting, because trading with the bot would have been more expensive. That's good enough for 3rd, even though red really deserved 3rd. Edit to add: Blue could have easily taken 2nd for himself, but again he's too stupid to do so. He could have forced Kylted to go out, and then he's sitting in the back with a giant stack. Again, don't reward stupid play.

@thoggle4235 Pink was playing at intermediate level, and was actually able to recognize when the game was over 3 hours early, and gave the game to Kylted. Blue was sub-novice play, clinging to a desperate hope after he'd been forced into the only viable strategy he had way after it could do him any good. Yes, I reward Pink way before Blue.

I think 1.5x is 0% for large caps in balanced blitz, but the upper limit for 100% does come down a little with increasing size, from testing with the Risk calculator. But the 0% slider trick changes that!

I agree,you made the right choice, but in truth, a really fun stalemate, with a fair amount of decent (honourable) play. No idea how you pull these wins off, it is what separates super GM's from the rest of us (I am apparently a master), but it is always educational. Giving pink second was fair for sure. Blue was a buddy but that game was pinks for sure but he gave it to you instead. Patience won in the end.

I want a king of the capital mode. 1 cap spawns in a random territory round 3. First player to hold it for (X) minutes wins.

Around 20 min into the video the thought occured to me, why not card block red yourself? Sweep the 3 with the 7 and leave a stack in front of his closed cap. Risky, sure, but a possible line of play?

oof long one.. I think hitting blues stack was right, but you should have just cap run after that... Pink would have had more troops so would have placed 2nd, giving blue 3rd... a nice thing todo for Blue since he stuck it out :) gg's everyone (except purple - you muppet!)

Gg, great use of alliance. You only survived cause of blue. I would have given him 2nd. Your logic for taking out blue was that blue had to trade with you. Well you also had to trade with him. Blue helped you way more than pink did with no chance at a better placement. Pink got bored and gave up.

think blue deserved 2nd tbh, they sat there for almost an hour card trading with you keeping you in the game when they could've easily quit and gone next game, and the whole pink allowed the game to end reasoning isn't fair when blue did the best thing they could for you from the position they had, it's not like they could've done you any more of a favour 🤷‍♂great vid either way though

Blue had to trade with you, but most players would have just quit there which would have caused you to not win. Should have gave 2nd to blue who stuck it out and enabled you to get 1st.

I agree, why didn't Kylted just take out the red 3 himself? He himself was taking an awful unnecessary risk that Red may have eliminated Blue, which Red totally should have done and missed!!

Because red would have cleaned out the yellow positions around the middle section. And given the way Blue played, he definitely wouldn't have seen the trade there, so then Kylted has card blocked himself. Blue killing Red is a signal. It's Blue telling Yellow he will trade there. Yellow killing Red there is not a signal, because for all Blue knows Yellow is going to clean out the whole section in a later turn. So Kylted wasn't really begging Blue to kill the Red 3, he was begging Blue to signal to him that he's willing to trade behind Red's cap. Blue never sent the signal, so Kylted needed to save his last 4 potential card locations. Blue didn't figure it out until literally every other position he had on the board was eliminated.

@@jeffwells641 All good until red cleans out blue from behind. At the time we were strong enough to survive multiple turns cardblocked, if red cleans blue out, we could be indefinitely cardblocked. I would not have taken the chances and let blue figure out the card trading zone over time.

So 1h30min without rolling anything, cardblocking anybody, getting a single bonus or taking a capital. Letting your enemies die from old age is risk best tactic.
