The reason why the run with the ball in the “end zone” is because the team has to kick the try conversion in line w wherever they dot the ball dow. So it’s better to dot the ball closer to the polls so the conversion kick is easier. Hope that helps. Plus love the rugby content.

The closer the try (putting the ball down on the end zone, worth 5 point) is to the goal post, the closer the kicker can take kick at the post for the extra 2 points. So if you get a touchdown on the corner, the kicker has to kick from a far away distance (those beautiful long kicks), but if the touchdown is under the goal post the kicker kicks from close by, directly at the post (making it an easy +2 points, on top of the +5 from the try). Wonderful to see you guys getting into rugby more & more as the episodes release.

The goosestep (goosey) is known in NFL as a dead-kick. Kolbe is exceptionally talented in this and also the side step and the swerve. In the one you step/change direction at point of acceleration and the other is a step/swerve when you are already in acceleration-mode. Kolbe also seems to have mastered the art of being thrown about by opppsition, like a rag-dol, and falling safely. And not being afraid of the big guys.

The narrative of this Kolbe compilation is to show his versatility as a rugby player and highlighting his athleticism. He can play any backline position and play it well. As shown - From right wing (no 14) to left wing (no 11); back (no 15) and even do conversion kicks (field goal). He is fast, very fast. Though small, he packs a lot of muscle and not scared of getting in the big tackles. As an aside, a try is called a try, because it used to count as 3 points (tri). As mentioned by others above, touching down closer to the poles earns a better conversion position. Touching down between the poles earns a kick right in front of the poles, 5m abreast. Fouling a player that was without doubt, on his way to score a try, gets a penalty try awarded with a goalkick right in front of the posts...! Welcome to rugby. We won't hold it against you if you support the All Blacks. Our fiercest, but most respected rival. There's a definite rivalry between the different hemispheres. Ireland vs Argentina...? Of course, I'll support Argentina (southern hemisphere), first, before Ireland (northern hemisphere)... Anyway, the best way to learn/understand the rules of rugby, is to watch a full match. What better opportunity, than RWC, to hone your knowledge. Enjoy the world cup. PS. Sorry about writing an essay.... Oops, not sorry. Die hard fan, here. 😂

Hi bro's gtsy. ❤ Secret to our triumph is teamwork. Each player is the best in their positions they play. Our best sprinters are Cheslin Kolbe, Makazole Mapimpi, Kurt Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie. Canan in my opinion is going to reach the top. He is good at attack, defense, dodging running and he can read the game with ease.He also knows how to make a game. Surely knows how to take any gap. Lotsa love South African rugby granny❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Should point out rugby players don't do as well in NFL as you might expect. It's a different game in many respects, but what trips up most players is the plays they have to memorize. In rugby they have set plays, but since it's a free-flowing game, the play can change on-the-fly, but this doesn't compare to the sheer number of plays the average NFL team need to memorize. Also, if you suddenly put on pads and a helmet, it will feel very cumbersome and is something to get used to. Another point to consider, is that the ball size, weight and texture is different, which could lead to handling errors if you cannot adapt to the change.

The position where you place the ball when you try determines the position of where the ball will be placed for the conversion . So it's better to try and put it closely to the poles rather than the far ends of the pole so as to avoid those angles when kicking for the conversion 💪🙏

A try is 5 points. Once you've scored the try, you get to convert that try with a kick, which is an extra 2 points. Wherever the ball touches in the goal area is the place where you get to take the kick from infield. It's up to the kicker to decide how far out from the try line he wants to place the ball, but it still has to be in the line from where the try was scored. It can be taken from 5 meters or even 50 meters out from the try line. A penalty kick is 3 points. The same works with a penalty kick. The penalty is taken from the exact spot the penalty was given by the referee, which is also the same spot where the foul play was committed by the other team.

They wait so long to put it down because when you score the try (dot the ball down) you get 5 points and a opportunity to convert the try (kick the ball over the poles off a tee) for 2 additional points but you kick inline where the ball was dotted down, hence they always try dot it as close to the poles as they can.

They wait so long to put the ball down because the closer they get to below the posts the easier It is for the kicker to score the next 2 points by kicking through the posts. After a try (5points) you get a goal kick attempt from as far back as you like but it must be in line with where you put the ball down. That is why they try get to below the posts. The ball is still in play until you put it down. The opposing team must tackle you to stop you getting below the posts.

There is a reason they 'take their time' putting the ball down. It is because they want to give their kicker a break, When you score a Try (5pts) you are allowed a Conversion attempt (2pt). Where you put the ball down matters because it defines where the kick is taken from. The kick is taken from a point on a line perpendicular (90 degrees) to the goal line. Your kicker would rather you scored as close to the post as possible so he doesn't have a 'shit angle'.
