In fairness at Everton, even Ancelotti and Rafa struggled. Then again, we are talking 'Agent Rafa'. I think Lampard would suit lower league level and then build up from there. I think there are certain levels in management like levels in playing the game. For example, Warnock is a beast in the Championship, but always struggled in the Prem

@@ryanwatterson4038 He got the Chelsea manager role the first time, because of who he is. He only had 1 season with us at Derby before that, and that was all the managerial experience he really had, getting us to the Playoff finals. He shouldn't have gone to Chelsea straight away, he should have stuck around either with Derby, or with another Championship team and gained that experience. That's not even in hindsight, was saying it at the time as well, before he even managed a Chelsea game. The Chelsea job would have always been available to him.

When Erik Ten Hag lost 2 games at the start of the season, Sky sent Neville and Carragher to hound him. Lampard’s just lost 5 out of 5 games, scoring 1 goal, so Sky sent a random reporter to ask some very easy questions. Interesting 🤔 Edit: 6 losses out of 6 now 😭

Lampard is intelligent but really verbose. I can see why players might not truly understand what he wants. I really think he needs to improve his communication skills if he wants to be a better coach. Short, punchy, clear. Work on this and then we can see what his ceiling his. But his communication hasn’t improved since Derby.

Even though things have not worked out so far, you can tell his heart genuinely bleeds blue. When he first started out his playing career everyone wrote him off and he ended up as the greatest player of his generation. Hopefully he can turn things around in his managerial career as well. Not sure why it hasn't worked out for him as manager. He's intelligent, & was a fantastic world class player who would demand the respect of his players. Maybe the Chelsea job is too big for him & he would better managing championship again where he was previously successful achieving the playoffs with Derby. This interview is interesting because his body language speaks a completely different way to his words. He looks a broken man now which is such a shame.

Lampard will be remembered as one of our best players but he has proven beyond all doubt it doesn’t necessarily translate to being a good manager. His team selections, tactics and in game management are so poor. Sadly for him I don’t see him working again any time soon.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Never ever going to doubt Frank's love for Chelsea. Just like I'd never doubt Stevie's with Liverpool or the inevitable Kompany with City. But unfortunately, they have to realise that management is a completely different role from playing and just having the right intentions isn't enough and fans will eventually turn on you. What makes it even worse is all three clubs have had incredibly successful histories that fans expect to continue and in Frank's case, he is in no way the guy to keep delivering that to them.
