I do it a little different. I use boneless skinless chicken thighs, marinate them in a pickle juice jalapeño brine, straight into Italian bread crumbs and cook. I then typically add a little sugar free pizza sauce and a little low fat mozzarella. I love it

RThanks for the support and great information. You could “toast” the panko breadcrumbs in the oven prior to coating your chicken for an additional level or extra crispy.

Tyson now sells air fried chicken and with zero sugar bbq sauce it taste amazing. Game changer for me but I like to make it from scratch every once in a while when I have time so good lookn out

Best tip of all here. Why go through all of the trouble of doing it yourself when the Tyson bag is probably the same calories and not that different in price. Incredible game changer, you're right.

Just a heads up. You shouldn't use pam on nonstick coatings like in an air fryer. It destroys the nonstick coating. You can use other oils instead but pam has an ingredient called soy lecithin that is the problem.

I love fried chicken .. but it's usually a salt and grease bomb from my local grocer or KFC that raises my blood pressure instantly.. I drive a converted van with an air fryer and can actually cook while driving. 5 ingredients I already have with me are olive oil, ground flaxseed (for my morning smoothies) , a garlic pepper seasoning, smoked paprika and mayo... I'm going to try using mayo as a binder and making a crunchy rub from the other ingredients for a small pack of chicken thighs. I'm not that picky with food.. If it even gets close to good It will be a huge win.

A great way to get rid of the little tendon in the chicken is to put it between the tines of a fork and pull. It removed the whole thing at once so you don’t eat any of it.

@jakejones39212 жыл бұрын
I always wondered how you count the egg calories and the flour calories when you don’t use all of what you poured ???
@danielrutherford94562 жыл бұрын
If you want to get scientific with it you can always weigh the egg mix before and after you dip the chicken. Same with the flour.
@BrownPatriot3162 жыл бұрын
The egg beaters/egg whites are so low in calories I just never count it, the chicken doesn’t even soak it in as much as you think. You could literally use like 2 servings of egg whites for all that chicken. As far as the flour, just trial and error of how much you actually need. Start on the lower end, and add more if you need to.

How do you measure the eggs used accurately?
@walshembellishment1961Ай бұрын
came here to ask this as well. i'm guessing it's a negligible amount of calories in the egg wash, but if you want to know. weigh out the amount of eggs for the egg wash, dip all your chicken in, then weigh the eggs wash after and subtract the amount of leftover egg wash from the original amount. whatever amount is leftover is how much you used.

Try seasoning the chicken and not the flowing. You waste seasoning putting it in the flower. Plus some seasonings burn. So season the meat then dip in flower.

55th I think I would try the blacked one over the others. Panko seems cool. I remember making a RJ chicken sandwich spicy that had flour and panko and hot sauce and was amazing. I believe it was him anyways. But honestly I never needed flour on my chicken. I love shake n bake pork chops more than fried pork chops. And I can dipped season pre grilled chicken I get at walmart in honey mustard and still feel I'm enjoying it. The only fried chicken to me worth it is take out anyways. But if I am not dieting or cheating and get a 15 piece, I'm eating the whole thing and feeling like crap after. So I can easily eat stuff like this and tastes almost as good.
