They replaced the 6.1 with the 6.4 in 2011, and own a final year 2010 Challenger SRT8. The 6.1 handles boost a lot better than the 392 and am thinking about doing either the Whipple, or Magnuson. I'm also considering doing coilovers, and have been looking at those recently as well. Not planning on tracking it, but mostly doing it for the look and should also launch better off of the line being closer to the ground

Could have been engine, or the fried torque converter in the tranny. The converter isn't specced properly for that much HP and TQ.

The torque converter for the 300 isn't specced properly for that engine and the HP and TQ it's making. That's why it's slipping so bad. Typically a converter's stall is for a certain HP/TQ, have less power and it'll engage sooner, have more power and it'll slip higher. Example: If that TQ converter is rated for 3800 rpm stall at 500ft/lbs but the motor is pushing 800ft/lbs then the converter won't fully lock up till around 4500 rpm.
