You way explaining and making it so much easier, is absolutly fantastic and has improved my golf so rapidly. Ever since I adopted the wining up instead of rotation, I regained the joy of playing golf, because it gave me so much more stability. I am really grateful for your online instructions and I do recommend you to all my golffriends. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. Greetings from Denmark🇩🇰

I have had a lot of bad lessons over the years. Technology has now made some teachers quite lazy. Or they talk about P1, P2, P3 etc etc. This was not one of those bad lessons. It is so easy to get confused over what is supposed to move where and when. I'm with you. It all moves together and we are all individuals.

My thoughts exactly. There is a place for it, but for 90% of golfers 90% of the time, it does'nt help progress much.

This really makes sense. I am realizing this is what causes the front the leg extending at impact for the tour pros. I watch my videos and my leg like bows forward, it looks lazy. When I feel what you are talking about I feel the front leg extension that I see in all great players. I am going to practice this heavily. It feels powerfull too. Thank you for this video!!

I am actually estatic right now! I think you just gave me the keys to the way I felt when I was playing my best golf! This move you are talking about, it basically turns your shoulders for you. Its almost like the whole upper body is passive. This feels amazing thank you very much.

This fix my shanks 😭😭😭 I’ve been golfing 8 years and have had chronic shanks for 7 of them. Countless golf lessons with coaches telling me to set up on the heal of the club, or set a head cover outside the ball and I KNEW it was something fundamentally wrong with my swing but no one could identify it. Thanks you 🙏🙏

Although we still have a foot of snow on the ground, my living room dry swings are really progressing. It's becoming so much more natural and second nature. (Not being on the range with balls may actually be a blessing right now.) I'd say fairway woods would be the area I'm least confident in right now. And I don't quite understand if I want to be using the same approach on the deck and tee with those clubs. I'd also like to see a short vid on the timing of the front heel drop and where the club should be when it's fully dropped. Rome wasn't built in a day, though, and I feel really fortunate to be "studying" with Alex.

Hi! We have some videos here on hybrids and fairways. Also look for Rahm golf swing video I did on the heel plant that should help. Remember you can clip upside down tees as an objective in lieu of a golf ball. Really help intent etc. 🏌️♂️👍

I think it’s best to think about the left side on the downswing. Of course with feeling for the right side. It’s important to keep the horse in front of the cart or I’ll likely hit behind the ball.

Question. How should we start the downswing? As your right hip is in a raised position at top of back swing, should you just fire your arms in the downswing or push the hips down towards the ball. So what should be trigger for downswing, hips or arms ?

@theartofsimplegolf I'm a 4hdcp and am getting older. I've been working on this feel, how do you keep the back knee soft? Im seeing it getting less flex.

Do not fight it and you can allow as much hip rotation as needed. You can allow lead heel to raise too

@TheArtofSimpleGolf thank you! Been working on this for over a week (150-200 balls a day, plus some 5 min swing sessions in the living room when I'm bored), specifically for my driver feel. First time on the course today...12/14 fairways, 2 drives over 300 (my avg carry before was 255, today was 276), and I shot my second best round of 75 from 6900yd tees. Not to mention it's created a 10 yard push draw which is something I haven't seen in years. Thank you so much for your videos.

You may have added a key to my attempt to relearn my swing after hip surgery. I used to be a baseball pitcher (not cricket!). If I think of the trail arm (I am left-handed) as preparing to pitch a baseball, except i am pitching into the ground using the golf club, I effect the most club head speed, and have accuracy. Using your idea of the rear hip rising and then transfer the rising sensation to the forward hip when I “throw” the club toward the ground (like a pitch), that may be the last part of the sequence I need to focus on. Will work on that today and let you know. I am 80 and my H.I. Is (during the winter) 12.7. :)
@TheArtofSimpleGolf2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, you really can benefit from the flow of baseball. Tap into that and modifiy a little.. I wager you will see an easier flow of swing. Keep at it and yes let us know!

Dumb question but is rotating same as turning. Rotating like a coil to build momentum then uncoiling to generate power from hips and legs and to create lag in the swing with the right rhythm
@TheArtofSimpleGolf2 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question and I try to address that a little here but also in other lessons more so. The concept I’m trying to enlighten folks is that TRYING to turn too much more often than not causes the faults I mention in this video. The wind up, ration etc is all valid, if you get the true feel and sequence as well as plane. For many golfers it’s hard to do well as takes a lot of practice. This is getting the best of both world for most. Especially older or part time golfers. 🏌️♂️👍

Just so I'm clear on this when you pressure the lead foot on the down swing do you just push up on that leg? Which moves the lead hip back and there isn't any push off on the back foot. Enjoy your teachings

Yes but also a little no… if you want to see “ cardboard golf swing drill” that shows and gives a drill you can try to feel the push off the trail too

It still leaves the viewer confused. How can the hip go up in the human anatomy?.is there another feeling to describe this? Could the movement be as follows; on theback swing, navel, belt buckle to the right while kerping pressure on the inside of the lag foot? This could raise the right hip up?
