If you like deep holes, there are tons of caves like that around Nickelsville, VA. I heard stories of those holes, 35 years ago.

@Mineral_dude, first I just want to say that I love the videos. Keep 'em coming! If you ever get a chance I would love to see some Shorts or videos on how you repel. Like, the types of knots you use, the safety checks you perform before starting your descent, etc. You know, kinda like a show-and-tell. Anyway, please keep those videos coming and I'll keep watching and thumbing them up. :)
@Mineral_dude7 ай бұрын
You know that’s a brilliant point, I’ll definitely play around with that idea! Do you have a specific questions I could answer for you right now?
@Craving-Adventure7 ай бұрын
Nothing specific since I don’t know enough about the rappelling gear and how to use it. I really want to get involved with my local grotto but until I do any knowledge you want to drop I’m totally down for. Maybe in your next video you can explain how the bars work. How do you decide how many bars to use? I imagine more bars means more friction which means it’s easier to control your decent?

What shoes do you typically wear going in? Are the Adidas your standard footware?
@Mineral_dude7 ай бұрын
Light weight boots, nothing too crazy so you can climb and be limber, I personally am not a fan of the sneakers like you’ll hear me say in this video but a lot of people swear by em

Do you guys ever drink the water in the cave without filtering it? I'm guessing it's probably not safe to do that if you are bringing lots of your own water or that water filter bottle.
@Mineral_dude7 ай бұрын
Yeah in an emergency I would drink the drips from the ceiling, but you really never know what’s in that water, yes always filter it or bring fresh unless you know the cave has safe water (some caves do)
