The scariest thing in this game is a Hoopa player that knows how to rotate. No matter how hard you try you cannot out rotate hoopa and have to know when to trade objectives. Hoopas with basic game knowledge can get super easy wins if teammates can follow their leads

The utility of portal healing that doubles as positioning I find works best with a team with some other way to heal and a lot of CC, if you can run the 4v5 and never get bursted and even just stall, hoopa is a God. Lapras and hoopa are a scary combo since lap can run up to the other robjective with a friend to even steal an objective trade, not to mention not receiving any minor losses via portal healing since resetting water pulse doesn't impact your Boosted healing, truly a rotation core made in heaven

I did something like this as well. It was a 5 stack game though and my teammate was playing hoopa so I asked him to sneak in their centre goal and press ult it worked extremely well. We all went to base after that and destroyed 3 of the other team's shields. It's a very good strat indeed, until someone spots the hoopa going centre. 😂

To be honest, it is not the Hoopa play that won you the game, you still lost Rayquaza and the other 4 members of your team got wiped out while you were scoring. It is actually Urshifu's true damage that managed to fend off Lapras's 78 and Umbreon's 100 score, who still had healthy Ray shields near the end of the match. If they would score those points, the point gap would be reduced to 1 point (your team 601 - enemy team 600) which means it could be anybody's game, not necessarily a win for you. This explains why you don't see this Hoopa play more often -- while Zapdos only gave a 30 second instant scoring period, the Ray shield gives a huge damage bonus which means it is hard to get rid of the shield without getting KOed, and if you are KOed, the enemy not having Ray shield doesn't matter because they can score for free anyway. And if you don't get rid of the shields the enemy can score in your face again and again. Unless you have a true damage Pokemon, in which case this Hoopa play is great.

what you said is true, but I reckon Cris still had a better chance at winning that game by taking the hoopa's portal rather than stick around for the ray fight. From experience, we tend to vastly overestimate the ability for randoms to team fight in solo queue. If you rewind to two minutes, when ray spawned, you'll see that zoroark literally just respawned, and Cris was already in a pinch. Even if Cris ults he'll still be susceptible afterwards. With two players essentially down, there's only so much that urshifu and snorlax can do to hold the enemies back. Taking that hoopa portal at least ensured that everyone would get value, including the zoroark that just respawned.

I am only trying to outline that this Hoopa play sans true damage ally is not conducive to a victory (601 to 600+). Chris never associates the success of this strat to Urshifu. The two factors must be correlated.

Good mew players enter this fifth gear that is basically bullet time from the matrix. You pull off so many fast combos in such a short amount of time that’s it’s like watching the video at 2x speed for a bit. And I say this as someone who has also gotten really good at playing mew. When things are clicking you feel unstoppable. One crazy thing I’ve noticed is that no one, not even you Chris, use coaching that often. It’s pretty situational but I firmly believe that coaching is the most op move in Mews kit. When there’s 2+ teammates grouped up around an objective, coaching/electroball is the most insane combo in the game. You’re jumping around giving your teammates shields while reducing electroballs already quick cooldown and gaining boosted stacks. Another combo I love pulling off that I never see people doing is using your unite move offensively with surf. After entering the mirage, you hit the grouped opponents with light screen/surf, timing it so they take the AoE damage from mirage while being stunned from surf. Bonus points if your move change is up and you immediately switch to solar beam to finish them off. Mew has always been my favorite Pokémon and I’m pretty dang happy it’s so much fun to play in Unite.

You can see that this strategy only worked because Urshifu was able to prevent Lapras and Umbreon from scoring at the end because of its true damage. Had they scored, they would have added +178 points to their total making it 600. Cris's team scored 601, and a gap of 1 point means that it is basically anybody's game. That's why this Hoopa strat fell out favour -- the Ray shield doesn't expire in 30 seconds like Zapdos's instant scoring effect, and it's hard to get rid of the shield on enemy Defenders and shield based Pokemon.

I’m a resident mew main. Most people don’t know that sylveon is a soft counter to mew. If I ever see a mew in draft I pick sylveon. Sylveon is the only attacker fast and tanky enough to keep up

Well, you can see that in this video itself. They couldn't get rid of Lapras's and Umbreon's Ray shields, it was only because they had Urshifu's true damage that didn't let Lapras and Umbreon score. If their scores had gone in, the score totals would be 601 to 600, which is basically a coin flip. So this Hoopa strat gives no advantage unless you have a true damage Pokemon with you. If you do, this strat is great.

This notification only pops up when a teammate actually interrupts enemy scoring. It's Urshifu's true damage, not Snorlax in this case.

Gengar isn't a back end mon. Decidueye on the other hand can be back end with spirit shackle or front lane with razor leaf.. I'd say go for decidueye if you like this mix. Or go for gengar if you wanna one shot squihies especially with the rise of all eevees.

I have made that play countless times in solo q and just for none of my teammates to show up , they just don't take the port and what I have is one scizor coming in with his 12 points that's it... We end up losing , this play takes a lot of will power because you have to be ready for no one to show up and for you to lose ... 🥲 Hats off to the hoopa but hats off to the team who took the port and kept hope alive in my guy

This is not that good of a strat at all. It is only applicable in some cases. It worked here because cris's team were already too much ahead and all teammates of Cris were great like that ursifu and Cris himself. At the end, there's only a diff of 200 which is not that much acc to how the game went and opp team had very likely chances to win the game.
