In 2022, the same was said during that La Nina season, saw near average total (no named storms in August). I am hoping for the same outcome. That Sahara dust would be our saving grace from any tropical development.

Do you think the Penn university has an accurate hurricane forecast? They say 27-39 storms.

there’s 26 letters in the alphabet and we’ve gone into the greek alphabet before although they don’t use it anymore so that’s very well in the realm of possibility

I would not forecast anything higher than 30, tbh. 26 is already extremely above average!

My predictions would be 24 Named Storms, 13 hurricanes, 6 major hurricanes, ( also remember not all major hurricanes make landfall some just turn way out) Great video btw!

I’d say 26 is good a guess as any. I’m with you on the potential for major storms. The gulf isn’t there yet but it will be and a very hot Caribbean combined with a considerably hot gulf is a combination for bad intentions. Don’t know if you seen The University of Pennsylvania prognostications but they are calling for 33 named storms with the ceiling being a possible 39. 2005 was 25 named storms, was the original record breaker. 2020 gave us 30, unprecedented and now 2024, I think we might be in for a doozy. These kind of hurricane seasons it seems to me is going to be the new norm for future hurricane seasons. Everything is only going to keep getting hotter, no cool down in sight.
