Think that has a lot to do with electronics. Fishman is amazing and have such a versatile sound. Especially for rock and metal. Glad Ibanez went with fishman. Now they have all the big dogs in electronics. Aguilar Bartolini and Nordstrand

Idk why but I’ve never loved the sound of these pickups before. But how you’ve recorded them here I really like them
@57precision11 ай бұрын
I think it's because this has a new proprietary preamp with a mid control. Previous Fishman applications have only used a 2-Band which resulted in an extremely scooped sound.

I put Status-Pickups in the Ibanez Multiscale. The weak points were always the pickups. I think people should more experiment what they want. I don't know if you need so many sounds. Perhaps just the pickups you like: Status, Semjon Drunken ...

@@dgregory4178 cool Idea. It is cool to read you haven't lost the trust in Bartolinis. I have. Honest I believe you but I am not going to buy any instruments with Bartolinis anymore. @quickwashtheraccoon7601 I have a Spector Euro LT that comes with Barts and a Darkglass pre stock. It is the best tone and most responsive bass I have ever put my hands on. Granted, it's a custom pre and PU's made for Spector but the sound is PERFECT!

I got the SRMS625EX model Iron label one. Which is has the same wood (only fretboard is made of some hard ass plastic), and barts instead of fishmans. The guitar doesn't have any neck dive at all, the deck is quite heavy because of electronics and the 9v battery in it, and overall weight is around 3,4 kg.

I keep trying to give Fishmans a chance but they always sound like the CHAT GPT of tone, very robotic and simulated. There is not enough dynamics and too much compression generally. The bass seems nice but let's face it, active pickups AND a preamp? get the best passive pickups you can find and then add the right preamp. You start with phenomenal tone. Then you color it with the preamp. Fishman fluence for guitar have one useful tone, the modern active tone, because they are modern and active. Not sure you'd ever want this on bass, because its lost in the mix. Nice looking bass though. Ratio tuners seem cool if unnecessary.

I'm not comfortable reviewing acoustic uprights since I'm not an upright player. Electric uprights are fine, but acoustics are out of my comfort zone

@@basstheworldofficial tbh if i would be a serious upright player i wouldnt look into the thomann ones. They might be a fun and inexpensive addition to my electric basses especialy with a proper bow. The question isnt if theyre proper upright basses competing with instruments ten times the cost. Iam just interested if theyre able to produce some proper sounds and if the extra cost for the 33's compared to the 111 makes any sense.That being said, dont leave the zone where you know what youre talking about and keep up the good work:D

Sorry to state, You are right. Return policy is crucial here. At the store it had been possible (active fiver fretless did suck the battery within a day) has a replacement on site a few weeks later (not Thomann, just at the shop in Frankfurt's South). The other Ibanez, 80ies origin, is just a dream but that's been another time it seems 😢
