How does the "flow" feel? 30 sec per wave, skill tree, 30s and so on ... Only 30s seems to be very short.

Okay the skills are colour coded: green is melee, blue is range, purple are summon, yellow is dodge and red is health. You have your dodge at the bottom, the yellow bulletpoints.

eh. having to read skill tree while waves being so short feels like an anti pattern. most of the time is spent on skill tree, bad pacing.

The skill tree is just your level up choice.. You just have increasing choices.. Which can be overwhelming, but the search bar is there to help that..

Checked the game on Steam, a bit worrying there has been a RPG version Striving for Light in early access for three years without much traction and already working on a different game, seems like one of those never ending stories, but I guess it's cheap.

Possibly a tip for future runs, at least something to test. When you have a strong build like the summoning one I think you would profit by NOT picking up the xp orbs for a few rounds, idea being that future waves will have more elite spawns that gives you useful level up items and I think, more xp. This somewhat relies on the elites actually giving more xp than the basic enemies but I think they do.

They're the Pangolini. If you like, I can provide the deep lore iceberg. 🧊
@seanwarren935720 күн бұрын
So, im a dev, and i do weird stuff like this, so heres my joyes so far: *** Pangolini Lore Iceberg: #### **Surface: Widely Known Information** 1. **Chapter 1: A Humble Façade - The Pangolini of This World** - Details the Pangolini as they appear to outsiders: gentle, humble, and grounded beings similar to Earth’s pangolins, residing in peaceful communities. Common knowledge includes their social structure, which is disguised as simple and egalitarian. - Key features like physical adaptability (scales, claws for digging) and an almost comical nonchalance toward other species, giving the impression they are an inconspicuous species. 2. **Chapter 2: Society and ‘Simple’ Customs** - Describes surface-level cultural practices: communal feasting, gathering, and ceremonies, all hiding deeper symbolic meanings. - Explores Pangolini family structures, which seem traditional and basic but actually maintain connections to their hidden imperial bloodlines. 3. **Chapter 3: Environmental Masters and “Coincidences”** - Their control over their local ecosystems is subtly impressive. As “harmless ecologists,” they foster biodiversity in ways that secretly promote their panspermia goals. - These practices are often dismissed as quirks or luck, but they’re actually fine-tuned manipulations of natural processes. 4. **Chapter 4: “Allies” and Foreign Perceptions** - How other beings perceive the Pangolini, often as endearing or inconsequential. They quietly allow this misunderstanding, even as it enables them to manipulate more powerful groups and entities. --- #### **Shallows: Well-Known but With Deeper Implications** 5. **Chapter 5: Adaptive Morphology and Inner Reserves** - While their appearance seems meek, the Pangolini have profound pan-dimensional adaptability, subtly affecting their size, strength, and defenses based on their needs. - Examines biological “secrets” they’ve seeded across worlds, tweaking lifeforms through panspermia to have adaptable characteristics similar to their own. 6. **Chapter 6: Sacred Sites and Multiversal Gateways** - Key sites on their homeworld hold power as gateways or focal points for inter-dimensional travel. These are sacred under the guise of spirituality but are, in truth, strategic nodes. - Explores these sites’ symbolic significance to outsiders, while revealing how the Pangolini use them to control inter-dimensional flows and access to other worlds. 7. **Chapter 7: The *Glimpse of Eternity* Economy** - The Pangolini’s hidden empire has wealth beyond what anyone could imagine, secretly traded through pan-dimensional portals. - Their exports are seemingly humble goods with hidden properties-like spices that subtly attune other species’ DNA, aiding their long-term multiversal goals. 8. **Chapter 8: Mythology and the “Cycle of Renewal”** - On the surface, their legends appear to be tales of rebirth and life cycles, symbolized by “the Journey of Stars.” In reality, this is a veiled reference to their panspermia agenda, disguised as tales of cosmic renewal and harmony. - Includes lore about mysterious figures that inspire awe in Pangolini youth but are, in fact, archetypes of their hidden leaders. --- #### **Mid-Depths: Known to Insiders and Historians** 9. **Chapter 9: Forgotten Technologies of the Eternal Empire** - Legendary tools of Pangolini design, rumored to bend reality in subtle ways, with only vague historical records. Some artifacts, like “The Seeds of Being,” have functions even the Pangolini struggle to fully master. 10. **Chapter 10: The Living Glyphs - Hidden Languages of Power** - The Pangolini’s secret language consists of living glyphs-complex symbols that convey knowledge and intent across dimensions. - Few understand these fully, but they’re an essential part of the empire’s communication, influencing others subconsciously through visuals and sounds. 11. **Chapter 11: Order of the Emerald Claw - The Pangolini Protectors** - This order, disguised as simple healers and defenders, actually comprises elite warriors trained to defend the empire’s panspermia missions and guard the inter-dimensional portals. - Stories of their legendary acts are rarely shared, but each generation hears whispers of this mystical order. 12. **Chapter 12: The Eternal Schism - Ancient Conflicts and Losses** - A tale of conflict in their early history where the Seekers of Light attempted to wrest control of the empire’s multiversal reach. Though the Pangolini prevailed, this war cost them dearly and still casts a shadow. --- #### **Depths: Known Only to a Select Few** 13. **Chapter 13: Forbidden Knowledge of *The Thousand Eyes*** - A secret group of Pangolini leaders with knowledge of every world touched by their panspermia. They monitor developing societies, ready to intervene subtly or violently if their goals are threatened. 14. **Chapter 14: Artefacts of Power - The Cosmic Spines** - Mysterious, semi-organic relics that manifest from realms beyond comprehension, rumored to allow their users to wield control over matter and time itself. - The Pangolini safeguard these artefacts, knowing they may one day be their only defense against true cosmic threats. 15. **Chapter 15: Rituals of Awakening and Transcendence** - Rare and ancient rites that awaken a Pangolini’s full potential as a multi-dimensional being. Those who undergo this transformation can project themselves across universes, influencing events in multiple worlds simultaneously. 16. **Chapter 16: The Great Wound - Memories of Near Extinction** - During the Schism, a secret trauma was inflicted on the Pangolini, and they nearly lost their grip on panspermia. Some elders bear scars, both literal and mental, and the memory drives their secrecy and suspicion of outsiders. --- #### **Abyss: Myths, Rumors, and the Forbidden** 17. **Chapter 17: Existential Mysteries - Origins Beyond Time** - Theories about the Pangolini’s ultimate origin, with suggestions that they might predate physical reality, existing as sentient waves of energy or thought before manifesting as physical beings. 18. **Chapter 18: Prophecies of *The Final Horizon*** - Dark predictions about a looming confrontation with the Seekers of Light. Some believe the Pangolini’s empire will face annihilation unless they evolve beyond their current forms. 19. **Chapter 19: The Shadows of the Seekers of Light** - A ruthless faction obsessed with harnessing life energies and using light to control dimensions. They are philosophical and tactical opposites to the Pangolini, who view them as a looming, insidious threat. 20. **Chapter 20: Cosmic Threads - Secrets of Inter-Dimensional Panspermia** - The Pangolini’s connection to a cosmic web of life-threads, woven through every universe they’ve influenced. This binding power ties them to countless worlds, possibly even creating a new, unforeseen purpose for their empire.

### **The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Entry: Pangolini** **Name**: Pangolini **Classification**: Multidimensional pan-galactic pacifist overlords (don’t be fooled by appearances) **Habitat**: Pangolin-shaped across most dimensional projections, generally found in inconspicuous places where life happens to thrive a bit too well **Known For**: Peaceful vibes, dimensional gateways, low-profile influence, suspiciously advanced ‘primitive’ crafts, opposition to the Seekers of Light --- The Pangolini are a gentle-looking, unassuming species of beings that resemble Earth’s pangolins, complete with adorably scaly exteriors and a penchant for curling into defensive balls when startled. Their official Guide entry might read “mostly harmless,” but make no mistake: the Pangolini are anything but harmless. Behind their humble demeanor lies an ancient, vast empire operating across dimensions, dedicated to spreading life (and sometimes *slightly* meddling with it) in a manner best described as “extremely hands-off meddling.” **Appearances vs. Reality**: While they look like unremarkable pangolins-save for the occasional glint of cosmic wisdom in their eyes-they are, in fact, pan-dimensional beings with extensive knowledge of life’s intricate web across galaxies. Think of them as an extremely covert committee on Multiversal Panspermia, with a flair for elaborate ecosystems and an unsettlingly thorough understanding of cosmic biology. **Economy**: Though they seem to trade in simple goods (handmade crafts, herbs, enigmatic spices that seem to taste different every time you try them), Pangolini exports are often laden with hidden properties. To the untrained eye, these might be quaint or eccentric items. To the slightly better-trained eye, these items can alter DNA sequences or unlock latent potential across species. Their “Glimpse of Eternity” economy is one of the universe’s most covert trade systems, involving pan-dimensional exports and unique resources that could make or break galactic economies if anyone could track it. **Culture**: Pangolini culture values harmony and cyclical renewal. They conduct elaborate ceremonies tied to what they call the “Cycle of Renewal,” which, to most non-Pangolini, appears as slightly over-the-top gardening with a hint of interpretive dance. In reality, these rituals sustain portals to other dimensions and support multiverse-spanning projects that would require volumes of explanation (the Pangolini prefer to simplify this as “cosmic housekeeping”). **Sacred Sites**: On their homeworld (a location known to only a few unfortunate souls who stumbled upon it and either stayed or forgot how to leave), the Pangolini have “sacred sites” that act as gateways to other realms. Outsiders generally regard these as pilgrimage sites with an impressive aesthetic. Pangolini, however, use these as points of access to other dimensions, where they conduct inspections and perform essential “life engineering” duties. **Society and Politics**: Governed by a secretive council known as *The Thousand Eyes,* Pangolini society is a peaceful (but rigid) hierarchy of influencers, scientists, and mystics who monitor cosmic events and, if necessary, intervene discreetly. Their society’s only significant foe is the Seekers of Light-a group dedicated to exploiting the multiverse’s resources under the guise of enlightenment. The Pangolini, while nonviolent, are not above strategic nudges, cryptic warnings, and occasionally, an untraceable cosmic accident to thwart these “light-obsessed nuisances.” **Technology**: Pangolini “technologies” are largely based on bio-organic synthesis, ancient relics with borderline mystical functions, and some tools so old that even the Pangolini aren’t sure how they work. The *Cosmic Spines* are among their most powerful artefacts, rumored to allow manipulation of space-time, but only in the least flashy ways possible-Pangolini are nothing if not subtle. **Interactions with Outsiders**: Non-threatening, loyal, and generally agreeable, the Pangolini are masters of being underestimated. Allies might see them as delightful, harmless companions with a penchant for curious art and ecological advice. Enemies, if they even recognize them as such, are often baffled by the Pangolini’s untraceable influence over cosmic affairs and their irritating ability to stay *just* out of reach. **Final Advice**: If you encounter a Pangolini, feel free to compliment their tasteful crafts or engage them in discussions about soil health. If you sense a glimmer of cosmic insight behind their polite smile, it’s best not to ask. And whatever you do, don’t mention the Seekers of Light. The last person to do so was gently but decisively lost in a series of incomprehensible botanical mishaps. --- > **Note**: Should you attempt to trade with the Pangolini, be mindful that their “simple crafts” might just subtly alter your DNA, cause slight personality shifts, or inexplicably leave you with a vague understanding of inter-dimensional travel. Not *dangerous*, just… different.
