Having repaired two original Canonets (the ones that don't need a battery) watching you work on this is massively anxiety inducing haha😆. I have this urge to take a million photos and notes while watching you take it apart 😅😅

It's one of the best camera repair videos I've seen. I congratulate you, perhaps there is no greater task than restoring and making something work again. The skill you have acquired both to repair the camera and to film it is impressive.

You are soo confident at this job! I wonder how many cameras you already serviced. True master. And your videos are truly educational. Please, keep going, show us the other cameras from the 100$ package…

This is where I want to buy a used camera from. I never do because i don't know who has serviced it.

How do you make reassembling the escapement unit look so easy. Im learning on working on a canonet 19 which has the same shutter model a copal sv.
@VintageResurrection2 күн бұрын
With patient you can do it! I loosely put the screw first then carefully lift and adjust the speed setting arm side to set arm knob to the quarter gear slot. That is the most difficult part because of the spring tension I think.

@@VintageResurrection Thanks for the tip! And yeah the spring is the hardest part for me.

Tanks for the video. Just in time! I bought a QL 19 and it has the same problem, the shuter is stuck. The problem with yours was that it was dirty?
@VintageResurrection2 күн бұрын
It can be the same problem. You may need to remove the front section and see what's happening inside the Copal Shutter unit. Sometime the cocking rod couldn't release the shutter because the shutter release arm is hitting the cocking rod @3:42. If that so, try readjusting the shutter release lever arm by loosen the crab eye screw or you need to file the interference part with sandpaper a little bit. But you may also need to clean the escapement unit if the shutter is open and couldn't close or getting slow shutter speed.

Very impressive, looks brand new now. Do you keep these cameras or sell them? Do you do this as your job or a hobby?
@ScuffedBoardsКүн бұрын
Its more like his hobby but sometimes he sells. Doing these work should def cost more than the cameras themselves tbh 😂.
@VintageResurrectionКүн бұрын
Thanks. I do sell some of those in local market. And I do this as my second job. Actually, recording video and editing took way longer than repairing the camera. lol ha ha. 😂
