I read for 'storytime' at my library job. The trick with longer books is to have a flick-through first and see if you can skip a page. You can also add your own abridged version of the text but this will only work until William starts to recognise words. Enjoy the time when they are little. Love watching your adventures.

Oh the relief to see another soul being slight concerned as to what the software is or isn't doing, the slight sense of foreboding and not being really sure if all is going well (whilst trying to keep cool and composed in front of others gathered around so panic doesn't break out). Another brilliant episode.

Visited your cafe boat for the first time a few weekends ago. Highly recommend the cakes, and may have consumed a few cinnamon buns too, and left with a slice of everything. The coffee was very good too. Definitely a summer highlight meeting you both. But, come on Vic, every morning it seems you make yourself a coffee before doing anything on Holly. How surprised we were to discover it would take you no time at all to make one for Jo (or tea) and take it to her on Zero. Need to up your game😂Hope to visit again in the future when our waistline’s have recovered 😮All the best to the 3 of you.

I will admit that a performance in reading books and telling tales was something we all looked forward to! The Sseussian rhythms, the songs, the drums and the crooning, we did it all the children and I! And great fun was had by all. The children carried on the singing and music with THEIR children but did not have (?!?!!) the Sseussian Rhythm. Baffling but as Granny still lives, the grands heard it nonetheless. Baffling. Very impressive work you are performing, Vic! It is difficult to tell, with cameras, daylight and smoke, just how thick a haze ACTUALLY is! In the states, washers and dryers are separate and the dryer is vented outside of the building to cut down on the moisture and humidity introduced into the home when the dryer is NOT vented. Do the combo washer/dryer units also have ventilation to remove the moisture from the house? Surely, they must with the humidity already surrounding the British Isles! The dryer vent hose, metal, could effectively keep the green bean smoke from the interior and let it waft out to attract the coffee drinkers like myself and my parents and brothers that would almost guarantee a Pied Piper effect with the wondering caffeine addicts and bring them all to your window!!! THAT is an animated image that I can easily picture in a Dr. Seuss book, longer rounded noses pointing into the roasting wafts as they walk, single file and noses up towards Holly! Anyway, if the smoke becomes a problem, the metal flex hose would accommodate the angle from roaster to exhaust fan with ease! Some heat shielding one the employee side of the roasting setup may become necessary. Maybe not!? Lovely video! Please excuse my lame attempts at humor! Your roaster is a game changer if you time your roasts to attract your custom. 🫰

Hi to you all, I recently started watching your vids and have boat life envy now! It's a credit to you both for how you took the plunge and just did what would make you happy instead of what made you money and made you part of the sausage grinding machine that's called life, for most people. Please tell me, do you need a licence to operate the cafe boat and have the food and hygiene police inspecting the boat as they do with every other food outlet? I'm sure you've been asked this and answered it before, but I'd be interested to know as a newcomer to your channel. Keep up the good way of independent life, it will be the best grounding ever for your son. Best wishes to you all, Steve.

Definitely the piglet is a very apt name, it just needs googly eyes if they wouldn’t melt off. We keep saying William needs a cat to keep him company. A female kitten would be an excellent choice. As they grow older, males want to go exploring for hours on end. Where as females like to hang around home and be there more often to play. It looks to me like you need to fabricate some form of a duct around the pig's bum to more efficiently guide the bad smoky gasses to the fan unit's intake wotsit thingy. Great episode as always. Cheers

When you go into "second crack" of roasting beans for the darker roasts there might be a build up of oil in the exhaust. Something to keep track of and keep clean or degreased in your exhaust extractor vent.
@nortonmolly3 ай бұрын
I’m surprised that you didn’t put the roaster on the foredeck area, then you wouldn’t need that bulky extraction fan. The fan needs to be connected to the roaster for better smoke capture. The fan could be mounted on the roof (inside a box) and then you just have chimney inside the boat. You are the best editor on KZbin 👍👍

I was so excited when I saw you were adding a roaster! I've been roasting coffee for personal use for years, and what I lack in skill is made up for by having fresh coffee and starting with really good beans. You've probably made good progress on figuring it out by now, but there are some guides online, like on Sweet Maria's. I find sound most useful. I try to stop after the first round of popping, and before or just when the 2nd round of cracking begins, for a medium-dark roast.

You’ll get the hang of the roasting. It looks like that first roast did not quite make it to “first crack” (sounds like muted popcorn popping), when the inner seam of the coffee beans starts to open up. After a small lull, second crack comes on… sounds more like fast snapping. That’s when the bean structure starts to break down, the oil comes out, giving it that oily sheen.
