I'm a huge fan of this channel now. I really appreciate how well detailed you go through every step! Infact I was so impressed with the previous video where you made the Lunchbox PC that I'm actually the owner of one now! It's so small, but actually really light aswell. I just love the fact I can move it into another room and have it plugged in seconds.

@@bathsaltfiend986 I have this case for 2 years now and let me tell you, dust will not settle as fast as you think. Since there is constant airflow, I only need to remove dust as often as you would do with a closed case. A little can of pressurized air is more than enough for over a year. And this "tradeoff" I am more than willing to take for a stunning case design. Also it is way simpler to remove dust since there are no panels you need to disassemble for cleaning.

5:51 They did brake aluminium plate wrong way considering "grain" of plate. This is why there is tearing under the paint = plate broke at the bend. Its common mistake with plates containing high amount of magnesium. Also bend radius here should be at least 4 times the thickness of plate.

I have the XTIA Xproto-ATX case V1 from the same company as in Devyn's video and it heavily depends on your environment. If people live in a very dusty area then yeah I can imagine you would clean it every month or so but if that's not the case you do not need to clean it that often. I have my open case for almost 11 months now and I have cleaned it 2 times so far. and even when I decided to clean it there was an extremely thin (emphasis on thin) layer of dust on the top of te case and GPU with that dust there were no differences in either temperatures or performance. using an electric air duster and in 5 minutes tops the dust is gone. So yeah if someone wants to buy an open case, they just need to look at how dusty their room is and based on that you can guess fairly accurately how many times you would feel the need to clean your PC. For example, there is a video of a guy who shares an update on not cleaning his PC after 3 months with the same case as in this video of Devyn. I nowhere nearly have as much as this guy in the video. Just a heads up for anyone looking to build in this case, a lot of modern graphics cards with heat pipes / vapor chambers only work in specific orientations. I can tell you from experience the Asus Strix 30 series cards DO NOT WORK with the IO facing skyward. I've both a 3060ti & 3080ti strix and they both run considerably hotter in this orientation, I now have both builds in SSUPD cases where the IO faces downward. The 3060ti with its much lower power draw doesn't thermal throttle, but runs much hotter than normal, the 3080ti WILL thermal throttle quite quickly even in reasonable ambient temps. Do your research before forking out several hundred dollars on this case :)

I went this way with my builds a few years ago because cases need so many holes in them for cooling they are more hole than case anyway, I mount everything to a board on a slider and put it under my desk out of sight. Runs cooler and quieter so no need to waste money on a water cooler or a case or fans so simplifies the build and the $200+ I save can go into paying for the over priced gpu's world we live in......I personally find this build more aesthetically pleasing than any regular build anyway.

For anyone thinking about buying an open case: I have the XTIA Xproto-ATX case V1 case (same company as the one in this video) and I absolutely love it. I was really contemplating getting the case in the video only I eventually decided against it considering the maximum length of the GPU only will allow the base 4080/4090 and barely (maybe 1 or 2) 3rd party GPU's. and what if in 2025 the GPU's become even bigger? If I want to buy one of the 50 series I will not be able to unless I buy a whole new (open) case because it won't fit. From the beginning I was thoroughly impressed by what I had received. It's such a good idea of the company (with my case anyway) to just include a nice and detailed video that serves as a manual. I think every case manufacturer should do that. it made building it so much easier. I also really like the quality of the case, the included small container (Like at 3:24) with each screw type clearly categorized and also the included screwdriver (3:31) you need that fits on all the screws. I was extremely impressed by this company that I had never heard of before I watched a video on it. But what about dust? This must be a huge dust magnet no? It heavily depends on your environment. After 6 months I don't even see dust on my CPU fans or PSU. Since KZbin will not let you post links the title of the video is ''Three months of dust with xproto + cleaning''

I'm using this case for almost 2 years and its perfect, not much dust accumulation, temps 20°C lower than a classic build, easy acces to components, Ive built mine from and old msi infinite s, power supply only 19cm and the xtia being 19cm its thigt, cable management a little difficult, Ive pimped it with some little themometers to make it moke cyberpunk

Would be sick to slide the build into some outer shell that only leaves a hole for the pump display! Just a matt black clean block with a single display on it.

Nice video! but you should mention how you cable manage all the cables (power cord, DP cord, ethernet, all usb etc), and put on video how that looks.. Because all come out of the top of the case when its plugged in, right?

This is not for normal people or most gaming enthusiasts. This is for a smaller percentage of gamers that treat $100 as throw away money. Don't feel bad if you rig only coast $1000 that's actually a lot of money.

I have the XTIA Xproto-ATX case V1 from the same company as in Devyn's video and it heavily depends on your environment.
