Those old HP workstations are really an engineering marvel. I picked up an old HP Z800 with dual quad-core Intel Xeon X5570's and 96 GB's of ECC RAM for about 250 bucks last week. I plan to use it as a beast of a home server as soon as I get a couple of HDD's to throw in there.

Yea they only suck becuase of HPs horrific bios and locking down, I get errors every boot thag reset my bios because I don’t have a $200 RAM fan installed

Old workstations are usually found very cheap and make perfect bang for the buck computers. I have a hp z2 g4 workstation with an 8700k, zotac 1080 and 16gb ram. I got it for 200€ from a local company. I've been using it as a gaming pc and even though it has oem psu and weird bios etc, I love it
