Just started playing S2, and needless to say in comparsion to modpacks like EFP or this one for example, I miss a lot of things. Regions feel like they've been shuffled around and merged into something entirely new, no PDA beeping for any notifications and no chatter, you don't have to wipe away raindrops from your visor... It's a shame, really, because it's less immersive than something created by the community. It's not a bad game by any means, it's just the small things that create immersion. Guess we'll have to wait for mods to add that. Great video, though!

Stalker 2's lack of A-Life is it's downfall for many currently. The scripted spawns kill the immersion. OK... there's the mission critical item I need to get.... And as soon as you do, several enemies spawn in and start firing before you can even look at the item. Just got through a S2 mission in Yantar where I had to kill 5 bloodsuckers before getting the to the mission critical item, and as soon as I picked up the item on the dead body, 4 more bloodsuckers spawn in, along with a group of dogs and fleshes. Luckily the spot I found ontop of the boxes was the only place to remain safe. Or just having NPCs spawn behind you. After those 9 bloodsuckers, dogs, and fleshes, I was leaving the area though another entrance and just as I left through the gate entrance, a group of zombies spawn behind.... where I just came from. I miss that A-Life. But Anomaly and Gamma have it, and it's makes S2 look arcade in comparison. Even many of the graphical effects that are missing from S2. The dynamic shadows created by the lightning... gone in S2. Suns shafts in S2... look like something from the mid 90's. Freelook... even that is gone for the mouse. Guess the devs don't want you looking around noticing all the things missing in S2.

I played my first stalker when i was like 12-13, now im 29 and im playing anomaly custom, i played stalker all this years and never bored, this games are so good and my favourites, well, this and fallout/elder scrolls next year will play stalker 2 when series 5000 of rtx go on the market, my 2060 super dont fit well with stalker 2, that means just more hours of anomaly

Just subscribed...I had downloaded Custom a few months back but the difficulty was extreme. The mod is by far my favorite graphically, atmospherically, and mechanically but just too damn difficult.

Be sure to change the enemy dispersion and the base dispersion in the gameplay difficulty. The higher the value the less accurate enemies are and that includes them being able to spot you half way across the map. The lower the value the more precise enemies shots are etc. The devs mentioned this on their discord what to do if the game is too difficult.

Honestly, if STALKER 2 somehow flops on release... well, GSC made sure to put moddability as one if its key selling points on the Steam store page. It's meant to be transformed, and hopefully any potential ANOMALY successor will be able to make up for any failings on its part. That said... if GAMMA is anything to go by, you might have to get a whole separate drive for modded STALKER 2, given its already uncomfortably enormous base size of 150GB...

Custom is a bit easier than gamma I think, because you can buy everything you need. You can however try to install gamma economics and push all settings to hardest difficulty.

I just started playing this modpack and wtf is up with the radiation? Idk if my game is glitched but once I gain any radiation its absolutely impossible to get rid of and it slowly kills me, forcing me to use all of my meds. I tried everything from cigs to alcohol and even anti radiation drugs and the red radiation icon never goes away and the bar in the inventory never drops. Im guessing my game is glitched but I thought I'd ask if anyone else had this problem.

@@unclepecos3512 equip your radiation measurement tool, you might have a very high value since you start out with almost zero protection to radiation. Consider buying a good enough suit asap

I have the beefiest system possible and this still stuttered for me pretty bad, whereas GAMMA is crazy smooth. I would've stuck with Custom if I could've figured out how to stop the stutters. I saw a few in your video but they didn't seem as frequent.

Turn off the reshade. Wont look as good but get a solid 20 fps boost. Current gamma has no reshade.

Dynavision for new Vegas is the only graphic mod I’ve used that made a huge difference in visuals without sacrificing game power.. look up a video called NCR veteran describes the coochie wars If you play new Vegas the mod pack I put together makes it basically gamma, stalker even with base building and cars

It's crazy how far people pushed X-Ray Engine with mods, you can almost have the same level of visual quality of STALKER 2 without all the hardware burden. Man, the beauty of these in-house engines back when Unity and Unreal don't exist... that's the golden era of gaming we're all longing to go back.

My guess is that it will be tough running Anomaly Custom on your system, unfortunately. My guess is also that Gamma might run a bit better than Custom. Good luck

The developers of Stalker custom think the russian war against Ukraine is justified. A war which has resulted in a few former developers of the game the mod is based on, dying in the conflict. Any criticism or questioning of their viewpoints on their discord results in you being banned. They only tolerate praise of the Russian regime, not criticism. For these reasons, it's a shit mod and no true fans of the game should play it, regardless of it's actual qualities.
