I've always been interested in the various ways they achieved TARDIS takeoffs in the classic series. It's awesome to see the inventive ways that the production teams thought of to realise the effect, and the... varying results

A video on the various TARDIS landing sound effects in the '60s would be good too, particularly during the Troughton era. I like that it could be different from story to story, rather than us having the exact same generic noise every time.

This is really cool, I've never heard of this method before, I recall a video from a few years back which discussed all but this method which I sadly don't think is on KZbin anymore. I think the more insight we get into how these effects were achieved, you do begin to understand many of the creative decisions, including any times the TARDIS landed off-screen or we only saw the console room. Great work as ever.

Another good one, thanks. It took a while before people worked out why the original of that photo of the TARDIS from Power of the Daleks had a hole cut out where the lamp was! Trying to think, when was the first use of Roll Back & Mix done in studio with the full size prop? Colony In Space? Curse of Peladon?

_The Rescue_ (the episode, not the story).

Or they can just say screw it and have the TARDIS land behind some fencing, like the start of The Massacre!

What is the curiosity about the Tardis prop in the reign of terror I’m interested is it that the lights shine down into the sign box and widow ?

It’s that the shot that’s on screen when that’s being said is the earliest definite full appearance of the duplicate external doors, rather than the full original prop.

Hey David! I have a question, at 12:59 minutes into The Chase: The Death Of Time there is a very abrupt shot of Vicki. Is part of the episode damaged at that part or was someone just deciding to add a weird random short shot of Vicki?
