You really can’t go wrong with The Cult. Every song is a banger. They are a completely underrated rock band. Just pure rock straight up! I’ve seen them twice in 2 different decades and they were fantastic both times. My personal favorite is “Rain.” Hope y’all go deep down this rabbit hole!

And to imagine, Billy Duffy was messing around with a violin bow and mashing all the pedals to amuse Ian. He stopped doing that and started the riff with all the pedals on and the producer loved it. And that’s how that intro came to life. Music history! One of my all-time favorite songs.

That was the the way it was mixed. Kinda that post-punk style mix early/mid 80s. They would get Rick Ruben to mix the next album (Electric) and that album has a more hard rock mix and style, way drier, kinda ac/dc-ish. Check out Love removal machine off of it.

I saw them in Lubbock Texas in 1991 with a buddy while stationed at Reese AFB and let me tell you it was amazing, by the end of the night my buddy Travis lost me then showed up after the show with no shirt, no shoes, lost his wallet and had two beautiful ladies one on each arm when he found me, it was a week night and I will never forget it. Ian was on point, almost as good as a Rammstein show. Almost.

The Cult (not to be confused w/ 70's rockers Blue Oyster Cult) was formed in the early 80's by American vocalist Ian Astbury & British guitarist Billy Duffy (w/ various backing musicians)... their raw brand of hard rock was instantly great and got huge respect, despite later commercial success. 'She sells sanctuary' was from their 2nd album 'Love' in 1985... their big hit album 'Electric' came in 1987 and went platinum (1 million copies) in the US and so did 'Sonic temple' album in 1989. However, conflicts between Astbury & Duffy was getting volatile by the early 90's... The Cult released 2 more albums - 'Ceremony' (1991) and 'The Cult' (1994, self-titled) before splitting up in 1995. In 1999, Astbury and Duffy attempted to reunite The Cult for a tour and a new album arrived in 2001 - 'Beyond good & evil' ... However, the band split up again in 2002 due to internal conflicts. Ultimately, The Cult returned in 2007 w/ a new members backing Astbury & Duffy... the album 'Born into this' in '07 was followed by successful touring and more records - 'Weapon of choice' (2012) and 'Hidden city' (2016)... The Cult still sell out tours and are working on a new album. Other classics by The Cult - "Fire woman'... "Lil' devil" ... 'Love removal machine'... 'Edie (caio baby)' ... 'Ceremony' ... 'Rise' ... 'Sweet soul sister'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘

y'all need to crank it up. Rock and roll and especially this song needs to shake the walls bro! Rock is meant to be played loud especially this song! .....I think you lose a lot if you listen to this song in low volume. You lose the energy of the song if you don't turn it up! This is the type of song you crank up and have the whole neighborhood listen too!
