There's a bigger gap (0.11 seconds) between Bolt's 100m world record and the second fastest 100m of all time, than the gap (0.1 seconds) between second and 12th fastest of all time

That's incorrect. Bolt has 9.58, 9.63 & 9.69. Therefore the 2nd fastest 100m of all time is 9.63 which is the OR.

It's interesting. I've met Fred Kerley. I volunteered at the 2023 Budapest World Championships, and there was a major mix-up regarding entrance to the training track. He appeared at the volunteer's entrance - alongside a lot of other athletes, the information was given so badly - with his manager. He was quiet, humble, kind even. It was his manager that was an arse. So I was so taken aback at that post. In person, even when he was so clearly wronged, he proved to be respectful and down to earth. Honestly, this is wild to me.

As soon as Fred dials in the aerodynamics of his goatee, he’ll smash all the records. That thing is like the nose cone of a fighter jet, slicing though the air 😂 Seriously though, he’s a hugely gifted athlete, so if he works hard and has a perfect race on a perfect day… probably still not going to break 9.7. But I’ll be happy to eat my words if he pulls it off. Everyone wants to witness superhuman feats of physical action, so I’m rooting for him either way. To answer the original question, I’d’ve said Bolt and Kiptum, and Shelly Ann Fraiser-Price and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Still so gutted about Kiptum. What a tragic loss. He was just getting started; we’ll never know what he would’ve been capable of.

Just wished Kelvin Kiptum was still alive. He may be the only man with any reasonable chance of challenging yomif kejelcha who broke the half marathon WR in the rain. Kipchoge is likely too old. Still don't believe he would be an overall better runner but may be able to present a challenge on his best day since he would need to improve his world record by a couple of minutes to win given ideal running conditions. At least he may be able to motivate him to be the first sub 1:59 marathon runner.

I thought he was referring to a planned training session where he would have a car with a trailer in front of him to reduce the air resistance, like Lamont Jacobs does in some of his trainings. Obviously that can make for faster times and I wouldn't be surprised if he managed a 9.57 under those conditions, but you're not gonna have that on race day. And as of right now, I don't think he's anywhere close to officially breaking Bolt's WR. Maybe he can do a 9.72 next year with good execution if he's in good shape, and I expect him to be a threat at the world championships, but the World Record is going to stand for many more years.

I think Kerly is having that 'Lyles' moment. Remember when Lyles said he would get 19.10 in the 200. It' the moment when Testosterone boots all logic out the door. We all know the truth. 9.57? Ok.... Do a 9.7 first. (Massive respect to Yohan Blake and Tyson Gay) 19.1? Ok.... Go under 19.3 first (Once again..... Blake..... That 2nd 100 while doing 19.26 was magic!) Remember, both are well past that age when Bolt (23) pulled off that remarkable double. Granted, Michael Johnson was 29! when he pulled off that remarkable 19.32. But Michael is special. His stamina was arguably unsurpassed, even by the Great Bolt!

To break Bolts records you need a near clone that is as tall or close with a slightly faster stride rate while having a comparable stride length, and probably 200 lb or less (to make that possible) and with a quicker reaction time. So 9.55 from the NEXT BOLT!

I have to say that to suggest that bolt is the goat of sprinting is not even close. And this is coming from a person that knows that Bullet Bob hayes would have beaten bolt say 98% of the times that they would have raced. The goat of sprinting is now that young fellow from Africa. Letsile Tebogo, his times are off the charts. 60,100,200,300 and his relay leg in the 4x400. My man the Bullet wished he could be this talented!

Of everything that was in that video this is an odd topic to choose, especially since you already made a video about it. If anyone was to make a video on something Fred said I thought it would be about the 2022 world championships where he ran 9.79 easily in the heats and in the interview he said he pull or tore something in his quad in the semifinal which is why he only ran 9.84 to win and in 2023 he wasn’t fully healed which explains why there was such a big difference between the two seasons.

I predict I'm going to break 9.57 in the 100m the next time I race. By all time best time is 12 seconds but I feel confident and everyone knows sprinting is mostly a mental game.

The tweet got him a lot of attention so could it have been something to do with his sponsors or, as he was wearing a pair of Puma shoes while being sponsored by Asics, was it some kind of weird message to Asics or even Puma? I know it's a stretch but I can't see why else Fred would draw attention to himself, & increase the pressure on himself, like that.

Idk if this downgrades his fitness but his reaction time during his 9.81 this year was almost perfect. I think it was .11 or .12

Jamaica didn't break the 4x100m world record in 2009. They broke it in 2008, 2011 & 2012! Pretty sure I've seen another video where you've said they broke it in 2009.

Biggest talents for sprinting go into NFL. Usains record wold be already beaten if NFL wouldnt steal so many sprinters.

@@mertholomy8414 I Know of one athletic coach that did some testing on those guys and found a specimen that really had good balanced muscles for sprinitng and could run 10 seconds on grass. On grass! Imagine if that guy went into athetics and learn all the proper technique. It is true what I say, the biggest talent goes to NFL, ask any athletic coach from USA.
