yeah they are different in kpop because they use slightly more obscure US and UK dance/clubland sounds that are RnB centric and are all 90s... this for example is 'New Jack Swing' a late 80s to early 90s RnB dance genre and this song in particular reminds me a lot bobby browns 'every little step'. This song actually samples a Pharell Williams produced tune and he redid hid adlibs to fit in with this track. You are right it tells a story and their is a part 2 video that concludes that story.. their videos often have deep stories and lore. Welcome to newjeans i hope you do part 2 if not dive into their other stuff as well.. if you do make sure you do the official mvs for the story and not the official performance mvs.. look out for ditto side a and ditto side b andthen OMG as its a 3 part story in that order. :) I would also reccomend the (un)helpful guide to newjeans 2024 version.. if you do want to know more about them :P
