Ryben Flynn crazy my boss and I were talking about this just two hours ago.what hardness can it cut? We are working on granite countertops and it's tough stuff ,I guess you put diamonds instead for that hardness that looked like alabaster or something a little softer!

I know this video is 5 years ago, but it still puts me into a phase of nostalgia, because I always used to watch the german TechZone videos and the background music (the same as in this video) was the first EDM music I came in touch with about 10 years ago, when I was around 10 years old. And I instantly loved it! And I also love thinking back to my childhood where I created so many beautiful memories with my family (which is why I will never leave my country and especially the city I grew up in! I wanna be able to *look* into the view of my home city till the end of my life!) Sorry, too much talking but I could talk for hours if it comes to nostalgic things!

I worked in a steel fabrication shop that mainly use fifties and sixties Machinery to create weldments and other things of the sort. We had this one job that was about 20 feet long 4 in wide and needed drilled and tapped holes the length of the part, roughly 4 inches apart. Due to our archaic means of cutting and drilling they opted to have a company laser cut these parts and Laser mark the locations for the holes so we could drill and tap. Hey this sounded great. Until after the first batch we realize that the heat from the laser actually started to distort the steel which threw off the marked hole locations by as much as 20 thousands, which did not make our customer very happy. We ended up using our old school fixture so the hole locations were Within tolerance. Technology is great, but sometimes the old way of doing things is the best.

steffankaizer I believe you. I am a tv tech by trade. But also maybe I’m a little bit lazy and while I know for a fact you are correct, I am also so sick of this by the time I get home and while I am sure I could look up the electrical diagram, it is kinda like the saying “ a mechanic always drives a crappy car and a carpenter’s house is always falling down. But yes sir you are completely correct and honestly it probably would be more difficult to find the wiring diagram and specs and code the program that actually build the device.

No, water at a high speed can cut materials that are relative soft, i.e. those easily cut by a scissor. To cut harder materials like stone, at cutting agent is applied, usually garnet a silicate material.

A water jet cutter, also known as a water jetor waterjet, is an industrial tool capable of cutting a wide variety of materials using a very high-pressure jet of water, or a mixture of water and an abrasive substance. The term abrasive jet refers specifically to the use of a mixture of water and abrasive to cut hard materials such as metal or granite, while the terms pure waterjet and water-only cuttingrefer to waterjet cutting without the use of added abrasives, often used for softer materials such as wood or rubber
