Thank you for responding and reacting to another stunning performance by Emma, once again, Emma impresses, and it would have been even better if the sound crew had given her microphone just a touch more volume, she did almost the same arrangement recently to only a piano, it wasn't intended as a concert performance, but when she went into that middle section, she was way more powerful that the MAX crew let her be, which is a pity, the performance I'm talking about is at kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYSXi3atn9WemNk Emma has changed, massively, and it's down to the way that Andre helped her make that difficult transition from being a good girl singer, he helped her accept her place as a top notch beautiful, serene, composed, competent, driven and dedicated young woman, it needed Andre's experience and showman skill to help her make that all important transition, she is so different to how she was at the beginning of this year, and the other massive change was a mental one, that first night at the Vrijthof, as she sang the new version of Voila for the first time, something happened that she'd sung about, dreamed about, and hoped for, LAAT MIJ EEN VLINDER ZIJN , let me be a butterfly kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYrYaWmvfrJrn5Y You need to see the translation (the video has subtitles in English) to understand the deep emotion, it's every bit as emotional as Voila, especially as she sings a section, around 2:10 in, 'if only for a day, or even for a count of ten, I'd just like to live as another', and you will then see a gentle shake of her head, the pain in her eyes, the recognition of the awful reality of her situation, and then her head goes down to silence for a moment. Then she rises, physically and in the song she soars to an even greater height, as much as to say, 'This is NOT going to beat me, or define me, I WILL rise above it', an incredibly emotional moment, it was written for her, an expression of her dream, and that first night at the Vrijthof, which is also the video that's gone viral, (32 million views and counting still ) Emma changed, mentally, her dream came true that night, it happened for her, in the words of another song she's sung, 'Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this', and while she physically walked out on to that stage, mentally, she was the beautiful butterfly emerging from the long period of change, the chrysalis emerged from the cocoon as the beautiful butterfly of her song and dream, and it soared high and free over the stage. Emma mentally went up with it, and absolutely dominated that stage, the orchestra and the audience, and that was the first time she had performed the new version for a live audience, she was truly inspired. Mentally, she fulfilled her dream, it started happening for her on that night, when she finished singing that first performance, she hadn't just given the performance of her life, she'd LIVED that song, and the depth of the meaning for her, on that stage, she poured her heart, her life, her soul and her emotions into it, she became so strong yet massively vulnerable for 12,500 people, but in her mind, she had soared over that stage, the orchestra and the audience, and she captivated all of that audience with a voice that for me has no equal. At the end, the smile on her face said she knew in her heart that she'd absolutely nailed it, but even then, she wasn't completely ready to believe it, the 15 year old girl emerged for just a moment, she threw her arms wide as she turned to her mentor, Andre, as much as to say, 'How was that?' His eyes, the hug, the one word, 'Fantastic', the standing ovation from everyone, the call back to take more of the applause that was so rightly hers, those moments marked the emergence of the new Emma, the same Emma that now has the confidence and strength to believe that it truly is happening for her, she is a singer, an incredible singer who absolutely deserves to be recognised alongside people that she used to look up to in hope of mirroring them, now, she's up there with them, performing as equals alongside them, and this is only the start of an incredible future, Andre has her for the next 12 months at least, he and the extended family that is his orchestra will surround her with love and support, we can see it already, and she will be able to soar higher than even she'd anticipated, Andre saw her potential in his studio, and is now gently pushing her to new heights, and she's responding to that and delivering for him so well, it will be so good to see it happening over this next year. I can't think of any other singer in the last 15 years that can walk on to the stage with no start note or intro and sing a capella like she did with White Christmas, you could have heard a pin drop as Emma, all on her own with no support absolutely captured another huge audience, and then Andre worked his magic again, brought the orchestra in so gently, and then added the sopranos and tenors, and all the way through, Emma's voice rang out clearly like a bell, and then he wound it down again to let her round it out, so beautifully dramatic, and giving her centre stage. Emma is showing us all so clearly that she is already way above being a one song wonder, she is delivering on so many different genres, and doing that so wonderfully well, and that's only going to get better as she learns with Andre and his team. I will close with a plea to everyone reading this, the only thing that might stop Emma is if her gastroparesis becomes worse, so please, if you can afford to do it, make a contribution to her foundation, gastrostars.nl and help them fund research that might mean better treatments for this awful disease, or maybe even a cure, it would be tragic if Emma was forced to stop singing so beautifully, and her foundation has the people that may be able to make a difference. If they can, that would be so good for Emma and many other people.
