Yeah I saw this coming. It shouldnt be how raid characters are released. I understand them making money off us. Im ok with it I spend quite a bit. Modes like raid need to be f2p friendly and so far with this Sentinel release it doesnt seem like it. Raids are important for the alliance as a whole. Arena is a solo thing. If you’re gonna pay wall solo things IDC I will deal with it but doing it to raids is screwing me over as a spender. I cant expect my alliance to go into orchis when Im the only guy dropping money and I dont want to switch alliances cause Ive grown fond of the ppl in my alliance. I enjoy playing with them. Its bs.

If they went back to character releases for $15 USD there sales would be through the roof. The krakens will still be all over it, the mid tier spenders would be into it and buy more than just the passes and f2p might be more inclined to make 2 or 3 purchases a month instead of maybe the 1 0r 2 a year

Remember the old days? Every patch had a character event, a blitz release, and another odd milestone? And maybe F2P had to get the legendary on the 2nd run - which was rough, but still workable. AND, the legendary events actually required skill to get through. Now, ever release has the cadence of a legendary (if not the requirements), and new legendaries are nothing more than stat checks. Is there strategy here anymore, or just button pushing?

Okay, I'm being genuine with this question. 1. They have made so many errors that are obvious and we have had to point it out to them; 2. In the past they've "featured" a character at a certain percentage, where the character didn't drop, although the artwork said they were there (our bad for not going "inside" the orb). This now leads into my question, how do we even know that 0.40% chance (or any others) is even correct. We have no way of "seeing" the back end to know that they haven't made another mistake. If this is the new release method, I'd need some sort of evidence that this "factual percentage" is accurate. Who is going to spend money (or cores) on an orb that they can make the same exact mistake on and silently correct with none of us the wiser. TLDR: 0.40% cannot be believed just because they said so.

So many events and milestones have pushed the paywall. Used to ftp earn every milIestone then 3 then 5 now even more. definitely worse. My last 40 thanos orbs have been like 34 surfer shards and only 2 thanos The estimated value of orbs is always off. Including the top drop which is less than 1% is basically irrelevant for everyone

The issue is they are using dynamic drop rates, they can try and say they arn’t but it’s easy to prove they are. What’s worse is their doing it in the evilest way possible. I’ve opened all the sentinel orbs in the milestones and each one only had 1 shard. The 3 krakens in my alliance the already had them at 5 and 6 stars are getting consistent 10 drops. This is beyond slot machine rates that they claim to follow so should be Illegal

Actual chance of getting a 100 shard drop is actually 1 in 250 and not 1 in 300. However, that does not really make any difference. MG said you would need to open 300 orbs to get a 100 shard drop. That is not the case. MG is referring to Statistics, but opening orbs is Probability. You could open 5000 (5k) orbs and not get a 100 drop, but get 1 shard for every one of 5000 orbs.

Before this change I had 10k cores, I now have 0 and just unlocked the Annihilators last week. I would say I am very engaged player and have been in the top 100 of Arena since Apoc. During the Annihilators release I was dropping into the 250s rank. Not fun, not reflective of my engagement.

In the past 3 years, I have the most character not unlocked on my account. It's normally 2 to 3, but now I have about 7 of them still not unlocked. Granted, 2 of them have not been released yet, but that still leaves a lot. Have not even seen this mythical 100 shard drop on anything.

Just to highlight that's not how randomness works. You can open 300 and absolutely only get 1 shard an orb. A .4% chance is extremely unlikely, jackpot slot machine unlikely.

I've been an engaged launch player, 2325 days played, a top 260 alliance leader, and a light spender, and now I am being pushed out of the meta. I used to be able to unlock all characters, but now I don't have Britain so I've slid down to gold in CC. I only have Gladiator and Gore from some coring, but I only have 34 Thanos shards to date so I have slid out of the top 50 to top 100 in arena, and sliding. These orbs are horrible. I have about had it, and am borderline quitting. My alliance is the only thing that has be barely holding on. I feel like they are doing me dirty with no appreciation. I am now getting less for the same effort, cause I am not a lucky person.

Mobile, your follower amount and viewership isn't increasing because the game is growing. The increase is because more and more players are frustrated and growing concerned. The game is getting more pay to play so players are looking to the creators and envoys for cheap solutions to scopelys manufactured problems. Also, for myself specifically I watch a few of you creators lately just to see what the climate is amongst those "in the know" whether or not the game is still worth the monetary and time investment. Idk I have been super lucky with this new system. I got the 100 drop of sentinel today and I got the 100 drop for Gorr and Gladiator and then I cored for Thanos. I know I'm super lucky but since then I haven't spent a dollar on the anilators and I have most of them at 5 stars and gladiator almost at 7. It seems to be working for me.

I don’t disagree with why Boundless is making the change. I do wish they would have given more time to see the impact of the stats change before they messed with the cadence. However, my larger concern is the events, not the character releases. If Boundless is going to push back the releases, they really need to push back events players use new characters (not counting showcases) such as pocket dimensions by an equivalent amount. Imo there is a difference between giving spenders value for their money and penalizing other players. Lastly, with this new character change and with the advantage spenders are getting, it’s time to remove star gates on legendary trials.

I agree with you, but just to play devil's advocate, adding the events that require the character weaponises the FOMO further, and gets more people to spend, even against their better judgement. They don't care about whether it's moral. They care about whether it generates revenue.

I'd venture to guess the increased viewership is due in large part to the massive amount of uncertainty they've created in their game and the community. People don't feel they can come to the proper conclusions or paths to take on their own. One misstep could cost you immensely. Lost people tend to follow any light in the dark. As for the rest ...yes. The amount of cognitive disconnect necessary for this company to consider people that give them $300 a month "light spenders" is immeasurable. Shit like that genuinely makes me think they're all sociopaths. A real game company is happy with $60. Unfortunately this is a casino front. So the House will always want more. First it was just $25 character releases. Then it was $25 and $50 character releases. Then it was $20 a month on a pass plus character releases. Then it was $40 a month for passes plus character releases. Now it's fucking $80 a month plus a minimum of $150 for character releases. This shit is literally insane and nearly evil. How is it that a REAL video game can cost as little as $40 and be supported for years on MAYBE two or three $20 dlcs while MSF "NEEDS" it's players to give them $2000 a fucking year?!?! A year filled with nearly zero genuinely new(not musical chairs raid nodes) gameplay content and nearly 100% of all newly created content just being new character releases? Most of which need to be immediately buffed after release to appease the people that bought them.

I’m gonna either step back from being an incredibly engaged player to possibly shelving this game completely and playing a new game.
