Mindnight is back today with some of the best deduction action I've ever had in a game. This game is a true example of a social deduction game, based on the resistance and other similar old school board games.

You stole my identity in this one Skimm! Yeah I was Brawny here, and man this game was so so unlucky for me. Fvrron and Lemming were really non existant up until end of N2, and me having hammer N2 sealed my own fate in this one. The problem was that we had a good agent read on 4 people (Myself, Orhun, Crabo and Niet), but since it was a 3 man node I had to take someone out, and that was a lose lose situation for me. No matter who I left out, that person was going to be suspicious of me right away. In this case it was you, but if I had put you in and left Niet out, Niet would gain your trust more and I would lose yours once again. And the agents did a good N3 prop to unambigiously identify me as hacker afterwards and the game was done for. I seriously believe that if I hadn't had hammer N2 I would get one more hack in there. But well played from all agents regardless.

Sadly, it seemed like you were the only one trying on the hackers... While watching the video, I was damn suspicious of Rumple (Laeming), because they first claimed to trust fvrron out of nowhere, distrust orhun out of nowhere and, if that's not enough, they didn't include fvrron, who they trusted, in their prop. I'd be bought by hackers if they called out those contradictions on Rumple. No one did, and, what's worse, both fvrron and laeming weren't adding anything to the game. Maybe, having Rumple + Orhun + Brawny N2 might've been better, looking at all bad actions of Rumple, but, with a quiet team like that, it would probably not work. Hackers should play individually, have doubts and try to find their balance, like all agents.

I totally agree with you on the “top talkitive” being a horrible excuse for a read, just because your saying things and trying to send out theories and thoughts. I have lost multiple games due to agents siding me for being “too talkitive”

It's not good logic for agents to go off of! Far more important to consider what was said rather than how much.

Well of course if they're saying silly things and rubbish/unimportant things then they could be hacker or is likely to be hacker but of course Skimm wasn't doing that. But you shouldn't think they're confirmed agents if they're talkative. Hackers can do that too.

TwoPercentSkimm Actually, having played a ton of matchmaking in this game, talking a lot and delivering reads no matter the quality is really dangerous, especially when you don’t know who you’re playing with. It creates tension between players, which is what a hacker inherently wants. It’s more hackery than agenty to deliver reads at a random time rather than only when relevant. As an agent, I find just thinking everything out until it’s crucial to say it is safer. And yes, I know this is a 4 month old thread, but I had to say it for future rewatchers.

I once had a game as agent where my 2 other agents where distrusting each other so hard and kept discussing all the time. I noticed that none of the other 2 people were talking. It made sense: why bother saying something as hacker when the agents are already destroying each other? I explained my read to the 2 discussing agents and we won the game. So the "talking too much" argument is bs - it's just as much about what ISNT said.

The placement of the players was really unfortunate for the hackers. If the control ever passes to your side of the board, there's not much they can do It do be like that sometimes

15:34 I honestly thought you had made the mistake on Brawny. You kept saying Brawny swapped you for Niet but the original selection was you, Crabo and Niet. An agent who doesn't include themselves would be dumb so he had to remove someone and took you out to put himself in. You kept claiming he took you out for Niet when that literally never happened. If I was watching any other perspective and couldn't see your agent icon on screen I would have totally thought you were a hacker pulling the greatest con of all time. I'm actually surprised no one else brought up the wrong timeline events. Making up falsehoods is super suspicious usually.

Node 2 was Niet, You, Crabo, before Brawny switched himself in for you. He was clearly a hacker at that point and was actively trying to frame Niet with the node 2 hack given you and Crabo both suspected it was Niet after it for a bit.

Guilherme Rampazzo ye true. Especially completely excluding 7 if 15 is blue is a problem. I think it's easier than Mindnight tho because you only need 2-3 liberals to win the game, whereas in mindnight, you need all agents.

I've been trying this game, but had a lot of gamethrowers and trolls. 2 out of the 6 games I played yesterday had someone spamming racist slurs and curse words, and another 2 of those 6 had people only roleplaying and saying stupid/sexually explicit shit between asterisks.

It took me a minute to figure out what was going on as the graphical layout and clarity of the game is INCREDIBLY bad. Now that I see what this is, I know how fun it must actually be, but for watching it be played it is horrendous. It reminds me of Resistance, a tabletop social deduction game with spies and resistance members where players nominate missions and spies can choose to fail the mission, a single failure is a complete failed mission. Secret Hitler is also very similar. Tabletop Simulator on steam has a very large playerbase that enjoys those style of games and it can be visually fun to play.

Skimm what mic do you use? I'm shopping for an upgrade from my headset and I like the clarity and warmth. Edit: Both Orhun and Niet have improved a lot since the first games I saw them in. Unlucky for hackers this game but I was still on the fence until the end.

This is the first time I actually watched an entire gameplay of this, and I suddenly realized this is The Resistance: Avalon rethemed, LoL. IDK, about it being better than ToS ... theyre both social deduction, but the mechanics would be like comparing apples and oranges; it'll be more depending on what mood am I in when deciding which to play. P.S. Does anyone know if there is an Online version of Secret Hitler, because that is one of my favorites?

The people propose in order of who they think is agent, if the node fails, at least one of them is a hacker

It really isn't new player friendly. If you go into a game blindly, you are immediately considered suspicious for not doing things a certain way, which is the node 1 meta Skimm was talking about. People that want to play this for the first time are immediately pointed toward the guides to learn how to play and fit in. The developers are pushing a major update soon, so hopefully it's different in that aspect, and also helps reduce the repetition of always doing what is expected.

Yes, but I do want to point out never to go back to The Resistance after playing Mindnight, at least if you have friends who don't do scum reading. Yes, the games are different as one is more "personal" and has more to do with bluffing, but it's really hard if you're a logic based player like me trying to mix in social cues. They didn't understand a single thing I said, and I ended up being right anyway XD
