He's using irons out to like 400M and its shooting perfectly flat. What cartridge in real life does that? Pretty much nothing. Even .300WM drops like 46-48 INCHES at 500 yards and that cartridge shoots pretty flat.

Now assuming he's playing on the german side (merely judging from gameplay) then he would have been using a Mauser mod 1918 13.2mm Tankgewehr. This has an effective range of up to 500m. Now about bullet drop, people knew of this back then (duh) and created various methods of countering it. Although not shown in game play, the weapon he was using is notched sighted from 100m to 500m. Assuming it was adjusted for an in between range of 300m (average engagement distance was roughly 300m or less during WW1). Even if he was shooting at 400m with the sights notched for 300m it would have probably hit the guy in the femur. With a 13.5mm wound this would destroy the major artery and even if he wasn't immediately dead he would bleed out so and shock would render him out of battle.

Well yeah of course guns are zeroed but only to a certain range. If you zero that gun to 100M then it'll hit the target if the front post is on the target. Same at any other range that it's been zeroed to. But if you zero at 100 then you need to account for drop at 500. If you zero at 500 then you need to account for bullet rise within 500. With an effective range of 500, that was most likely zeroed at 50 or 100, you don't zero a gun at your max sighting range. In the game it's a hit no matter the distance so there's no ballistics whatsoever and there's an autoaim/hitbox magic going on. The bullets are homing laser beams. We're not even taking into consideration wind either. Also that round IRL hitting a human target would cut it half, it's bigger than a .50cal. Even a dinky .223 can break a femur if it hits it right. That gun is also 40 pounds and ran a 2 man crew but he throws it around in game as if it's a broomstick so.... All I'm saying is it's not realistic AT ALL.

it doesnt put the little emblem it does in bf4 over your head when you die so we have no idea if we can, or if too much time has passed. Its not my job to heard you bunch of cats, and if you die in a stupid place, and me coming out of cover to rez you would likely get me killed, you're likely to stay dead. I will agree though, its a little frustrating to see the medic look you in the eyes when you go down, nod, and then skitter off somewhere else.

Aadam Zafar Im also expecting a good campaign this time around. With this amazing multiplayer experience and a strong singleplayer this game can be a masterpiece. If the singleplayer is not that good ( like Bf3 and 4) I will be slightly disappointed but the game is still fantastic anyway.

+IQ's Shoes I am not saying that it should be hyper realistic. But it should atleast somewhat base itself of of the reality. If you look at the guns for instance you see ones that didnt see any use in WW 1 or 1-2 that did not even get past prototype stage. The russian sniper for instance is BS when the Mosin Nagant was clearly and by far more common that a russian winchester model. Or the G95 M. which is an austrian rifle. There are currently no Austrians. They could've just used the K98 instead. Small bits like that would be enough

Never mind that rifle he's carrying a frikking WATER COOLED MG.08 and firing it from the hip. That thing was a crew served weapon that weighed 69 Kg (152lb) sure there was an aircooled version, but that isn't when EA has modled. The MG14 has the barrel jacket perforated with holes to let the air in.

There is slightly less bullet drop but the biggest difference is the increased bullet velocity. You don't have the lead the target quite as much. It is still tactical, but way more fun imo

People can complain about a game they don't own. People can complain in general, it's a good thing, it's criticism. Some developers and producers listen to criticism and make choices through it (I doubt EA really give a damn). The guy next to you in a trench is wearing a fairly clean uniform (yes, sometimes you have to remember things) and has a white name tag floating above their head if they're friendly.

No, sniping is easier in BF1 than in last BFs, the bullet have very little drop. I was the worst sniper of the world in BF3 and BF4, and in BF1 I can do, easily, 10 kill strikes and end the game with 20-2 or something like that. For someone with my little skill as sniper that simply ridiculous.

The sniping in BF3 was incredibly nerfed, bullets do not drop that much. Sniper rifles are meant to shoot fast and hold altitude for large distances. Wouldn't be much good otherwise.

It's an anti-tank rifle with armor piercing rounds. I'm pretty sure the projectile moves obscenely fast or is hit scan. It eviscerates smaller vehicles and does good damage to tanks.

I've always been a CoD player. never bought BO3 but i played it a lot with friends. i downloaded this when it became available (first multiplayer battlefield experience) and it's...amazing. the map, the atmosphere, the vehicle/aerial combat, the immersion, everything is just so much better. and it feels real. it feels real as fuck.

Tankgewehrs, C96s, C96 carbines, M1911s and M1908s were very, VERY common. The vehicles, however, not so much... The uncommon guns would be the SMGs, LMGS (funny because the mobility on those things is absolute BS because no "LMG" back them weighed less than 25 Lbs) and the semi-auto rifles like the Mondragoon.

And tankgewehr mass production started may 1918. So yeah, maybe some were available before end of the war in november. But very common?

+LedAvalon m1908 mg is just the German production model of the standard Maxim, nomenclature aside, that type of Maxim was everywhere in WW1. Officer pistols are still common because there are a lot of officers in a World War. The US Army obviously produced .45 ACP otherwise they'd never issue any M1911s. Mauser 96s were officer pistols in WW2 yet we know there's still plenty floating around to this day. And I don't know if this beta is in the latter years of the war or not but, as you said, Tankgewehrs were mass produced by the end of war. No small arm featured is a prototype, and by the end of the war, plenty of all of these were manufactured (even if they weren't utilized much in actual combat). I'll rephrase, these weapons were all readily available by the end of the war. As for the "People using the enemy's weapons is unrealistic," bullshit. It happens in all wars. Enemy small arms are often taken as trophies (Mausers after WW2, for example).
