I knew this time would one day come but never expected it to be so sudden. Matilda was my best friend and soul mate and by my side for nearly 14 years. Your support is helping me to deal with this. I know many of you have lost much loved pets so I hope this doesn’t trigger sadness in you. Matilda taught me so much and her strength to live her life with enjoyment right up until the end was the greatest lesson. I know how much you all loved her. We were all so lucky to watch this little white dog's adventures.

Dear Jo, I admire your bravery posting this vlog, when it’s obvious you’re so sad about Matilda. She was very loved (and a joy to watch - a huge character) and despite the dreadful shock for you and Mutti, she didn’t suffer. Very fitting it happened at Mutti’s. Can imagine how empty the flat seems without her. Having Flora visit must be a real comfort. We lost our beloved cat just a week before Matilda, so I can empathise. By focusing on the happy lives our pets had, it makes it a bit easier, but it’s the worst thing, knowing that we outlive them. Don’t be so hard on yourself about your love of clothes. It’s not so amazing that Matilda outlived her life expectancy. She was loved and well cared for. She had fun. my wife passed away of cancer a year ago then my Maisie missed her so much she died of a broken heart not understanding where she was , Maisie was a 10 year old Bulldog , my life is completely empty now , Matilda lived a good life and 14 years old was wonderful

Snuggled on my lap is my 13 year old miniature labradoodle who I bought for my daughter when she was just 14. Sadly my daughter has recently died and my dog is my greatest friend and comfort. Jo you gave Matilda a wonderful life and she you. I’m truly sorry for your loss. My own dog passed a year ago this month so I know the anguish and pain. There is nothing anyone can say to bring you comfort at this time but know that you are in our hearts and thoughts.
