Most people living here also have another house in eastern cape or northern cape the complexity of south African life you should go here on 24 December and really see who is there 🙏 migration to more industrial areas it's mostly the issue 🙏 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 these people have a home in their village and can't rent in city rather create camps 🇿🇦🇿🇦❤️

Of course Cape Town is freaking expensive in terms of rent so they prefer to stay here, I also heard some people have houses in Cape Town but rather rent it out. But mehn the struggle is freaking real🥺🥺🥺.

It’s great to hear your positivity of this place, but it’s not a good place to stay under where electricity emits power it’s very dangerous but trust me some of them have houses they rent out to foreigners and decide to live where they won’t pay a dime. Even the free house’s government provide they will rent it out and come build this ones and live🙆🏻‍♂️🙆🏻‍♂️🙆🏻‍♂️

The way you pronounce Gauteng for me lmao that's what made my day. There are people who stayed in that Ghetto and they are living their best life, the street life is amazing and cheap. We lived in the Ghetto in Gaborone Botswana called Old Naledi it was so like serious, the mind your business kind of vibe, even you see someone steal phone you keep quit or you see people fight you look the other side. The government has improved it now, it is the only in Gaborone that has 24/7 fully functioning street light plus the tarred road that goes between people's plots.

The vibrant Dunoon, not for the faint hearted. I remember back then the day I and my husband went there to fix my car, the place literally reminded me of some place in Nigeria and I was even humbled the more. We thank God for increase on all sides but just like you said, in any condition you are just know there’s hope for tomorrow. 👌🙌

The lack of influx control leads to this. Most people come from the villages to look for work and continue to build back at the village. No government in the world can build houses fast enough to deal with the numbers that are moving in. If you go to the arrivals at the bus stations, train stations and go to the departure side you'll see a stark difference. Most of these people have home in villages. The provincial border control system should be used. Its a never ending cycle. President Thabo Mbeki though by now they won't be any remaining but they are not fixing the cause. They are not birds, they are humans and have homes in villages, they have families but they choose this life and government can't work fast enough to give everyone a house. They even rent out the government houses and go back to these shacks. Yes for some the situation is real and I'm in no way undermining their struggle.
