I love the redesigned Model 3, the LR RWD is definitely going to be my next car. I also must be the only person on Earth who prefers the blinker buttons to the stalks, I always found Tesla stalks to be super confusing as they don’t click into place like other stalks do. Trying to turn off the blinker afterwards is super aggravating with the stalks in my experience. With the buttons you just press it, much simpler.

Haha, Drew, we actually just got back from an 1,800 mile Southwest road trip in our 2023 RWD Model 3, which we bought just over a year ago. That extra 90 miles of range would've been NICE. There were a couple of stretches where I got close to 400wh/mi, which means even 150 miles between stops is kind of pushing it. The temperature, the quality of pavement, the fact that I'm on all season tires, wind, it all adds up. Anyway, we got the best deal we could when we needed a car, so not really regretting it. It's good to see Tesla improving their vehicles over time, and responding to the tax credit rules.

For that price I could have gotten the Prime and then still be cheaper than this model. The Model 3 is faster, but not that much. I already get a 0-60 of 6.5 seconds, 4 seconds doesn't really change much, and my car is already nearly silent on the road, I only hear the motor when I hit it over the eco range. Tesla has put together the most compelling EV for the most people available today. This is it. I have a Honda Fit, it gets 360 miles of range, I paid $7,000 for it and I've been driving it for 10 years. At 35-40mpg and $4 as the average cost of gas (real average is lower over the past 10 years, so being conservative), with 150,000 miles I put on it, it probably has cost me $17,000 to drive it. Insurance is way less than a Tesla, put no more than a $1,000 in maintenance (tires, oil changes, air filters). So I have driven a used ICE car with more utility and better reliability and the total cost of ownership over 10 years is still less than the cheapest long range Tesla. Nevermind that it's also more eco friendly because the carbon and pollutants required to make it was produced over 10 years ago and far less than what's required to make new Tesla and the car will most likely last another 10 years with basic maintenance assuming no accident. I just see all Tesla's as luxury smart phone cars with economy car trim and build quality, and average car prices. Nothing about them excites me at this point. Aptera is the only EV that I see with the potential to really beat ICE cars as daily commuters and long trip vehicles for people who actually care about maximizing the utility of their vehicles and lowering their cost of daily driving. Buying a new car, even an EV, is not how you save money in the long run. But hey, we live in the land of trucks. So not like Americans really buy anything for practical reasons, so more power to all the Tesla fan Bois who keep buying new Teslas.
