Most of his issues with the vision pro stem from things that other vr headsets do not suffer from. Comfort, hand tracking, price, and amount of content. If the vision pro went for a regular head strap instead of what they did it would be more comfortable, controlers for non-hand tracking usage, more affordable and opening it up for everything out there. It's not that he wasn't a VR guy, but rather that the vision pro is not a good VR headset, and while for example the quest 3 looks less polished than the vision pro, it has solved many of the issues it had in the past, they learned from previous gens, the vision pro hasn't done that, and it's kinda obvious looking at the reviews.
@lilmichael21210 ай бұрын
@@TheShitpostExperiencethat no other headset struggles with? Are you kidding??? Have you used Quest 3?! Have you used HTC valve? Yeah they all have big issues and AVP does them all the best. Number one and the most important thing: the native ui experience is actually USEABLE, the quest makes you want to throw it out the window just trying to do simple things. Unless you’re a gamer it’s basically useless, nothing works well natively on Quest. So aside from price and form factor (barely, the tech in general still isn’t there for anyone) the basic experience of all these other headsets is atrocious.

I have discovered that the key for comfort is to do the following, Using the single loop after putting it on adjust the part on the back of your head up/down until the vision pro is balances as much as possible between the cheeks and forehead and not heavier on one than the other, next is to dial back the tightness of the band a notch or two from what you think it should be at.

AVP has over 1,000 VisionOS first apps, and over a million compatible iOS apps, and it's been out for less than a month. It's not hard to figure out what's going through Zuck's head. If Zuck really felt the MQ3 was simply the best product, he wouldn't have had to take the time to tell everyone that. I spend my life watching tv shows and movies like that’s all I do all day, which is definitely not a good thing but for someone like me the Vision Pro has been incredible. Yeah it weighs a little bit much but honestly if I put on my favorite anime, Netflix show or a 3d movie I don’t even notice it. Also I used to hate movies, couldn’t stand watching them because they take up too much time, I like shows instead because in between you can do stuff and notice how much time is passing. But with Vision Pro I’m now a movie lover. 3d movies in it is incredible and a treat.

Watching this (not finished) but I feel the emotion and the hurt you’ve had Sam, thank you for revealing your heart

Straight up. Sam’s drop test was very hard to watch. But, it make sense. And it DID provide incredible value and gave me far more comfort and confidence in making my AVP purchase. So big up. 👍🏾

24:43. What a baby. Dude, convert a BoboVR M2/M3 strap to fit the AVP (my conversation kit is on Printables, for free) and you'll never feel pain again. Or wait a few months, and I'm sure people will be selling the solution.

I feel like people are returning the Vision Pro because it doesn't live up to the promises that were offered by Apple. Eye tracking is mostly reliable, but when elements are too close together it struggles. The Vision Pro is a cool device, but it has way too many issues to be a good value proposition for me. I appreciate Sam's honesty, the Vision Pro has tons of issues that make it not worth $4,000 to most people. I have 4K projector that delivers a better experience for watching movies, playing my PS5 and consuming content on a large screen. Not only can I watch movies with my family, I can watch for hours with no discomfort, I'm not looking through binoculars, I can use my iPhone and any other devices seamlessly. If my MacBook Pro had the issues the Vision Pro had just with the UI, I would return that as well.

This comment is for Sam… i see your point about Vision Pro. But i will say in ways i was feeling the same way BUT this is a LONG HAUL product. Apple Vision Pro is simply just a foundational product. This is something that needs some grace. yes it is hella expensive, but I’m sure compromises were placed because I’m sure Apple wanted to do more but couldn’t because of factors being played. Sure yes things can be off and things can be trippy but most things could be fixed with software updates and some hardware things can seem off but at the end of the day its a SLOW journey this is what i had to learn. Sure i could do 90% of things on my devices BUT it’s something of a marvel to experience “the apple way” hands free. each start of a 1st gen product is going to have its flaws and its quirks but it just needs time like its predecessors.

Honestly who in their right mind was like oh let me spend 4 grand to do productive things while it’s heavy and uncomfortable. I never thought it would be good for that stuff while it’s heavy. The only things I thought would be good is AR games when they finally get some and content. And since sams a robot that doesn’t watch content, I can understand why it sucks for him 😆

Great video, only suggestion for the drop test would be to do it later so that you’re not taking that launch day experience away from someone just to destroy the unit.

@zd121019 ай бұрын
and on top of that, there is just little incentive to watch his content because you know he can't be 100% transparent in his reviews. I much prefer the guys who arent directly affiliated with apple because they can ctriqie products exactly how they want to. Its way more genuine.

VR headsets have soooo disappointed people this point but there's still massive interest in the tech , so people are only willing to pay TOY prices for it because at those prices they are OK with it becoming a door stop. the concept a VR headset can actually become a computing device that's part of your life. $3500 for a laptop/desktop is actually expensive but not beyond reason. but for a VR toy it's inconceivable because everyone's bought 2-3 VR doorstops for around the $1000 price range.

I agree with the comments about unboxing videos. When Vision Pro came out I got so tired of everyone feeling like they all needed to basically make the same video.

43:50 I think going into the video and saying it’s because your curious and the money is „nice to have“ may be true, but of course such a video also benefits the channel as viewers may stick and improve the clicks of other future videos which then leads to higher sponsor money. But - I want to point out - that I absolutely understand that and don’t think it’s a bad thing at all. I would do the same. You just framed it a little so that it sounds like your the poor guy loosing money on this and doing it for the general benefit, which may not be completely true looking a little long term. However, great new episode. I’ve been listening since day one and the Brian Tong situation is really kinda weird.

Quest3 has years on the market. it is a better product because it has all the apps and games. I wonder if Apple will reach the same point.

Apple Vision Pro attracted too many return policy abusers who never really intended to keep it. This phenomena itself showed how bad Apple’s pricing and marketing strategy was for this product: if you intend to sell it mainly as a luxury, then you should never allow its easy returns.
