I mean, each to his own. To me, Frank's spaces feel kind of... Game-y. First of all, they basically speak with you - talk about an unfamiliar alien environment... Was more Alien when I was lost in a town in India. The signs didn't speak English, there. Here they do. But, all this considered, this isn't a bad thing. I kind of treat this differently. While the original and popular backrooms are basically a breakdown of reality, as if an AI came by and tried to recreate what it means to be human - where we live, where we work, how we see the world around us. And managed to succeed, only... on the surface level. This feels more like the universe itself, the entire backrooms, are some sort of malevolent god toying with the little flies that get caught in it's evil flytrap. It's got more to do with SAW than the Backrooms, and that just makes it it's own thing.

I actually was so thrilled seeing this story have an unconventional play to it! A lot of Backrooms media plays it safe and goes off of a standard community formula, but you've really embraced the fact the Backrooms is somewhere dream like, unknown and, unpredictable! This genuinely feels like a whole plot driven story you would see in a show or movie. It stays true to The Backrooms obscurity but makes itself feel so personable! I feel like it was the lost shadow girl that really brought it together. Was not expecting a sentient yet kind entity that talks to you, she was genuinely so cute! It's sub-plot points like that, plus the horrifying nightmare fuel that makes it so authentic. Keep it up! I'm so genuinely serious! (^^)💗

It would make sense, but I could be entirely wrong. There are stages, like childhood, maybe even first love, that I see. An interesting take, as I said, utilising uncanny and linear space to such deep Chaotic, personal level. :)

I think what i like is that all the different interpretations of what happens in the backrooms is that it’s entirely possible they are all the same place. The backrooms have no reason to be the same experience for everyone.
@eccentricbass37302 жыл бұрын
I’ve always held the opinion that the backrooms would be better without entities. I still stand by that. However, some of the entities in this series have gone a long way to changing my opinion. As top comments have said, this series is much closer to the liminal horror in the original idea of the backrooms. The beings of this otherworldly place, if it does have beings, should be equally otherworldly. Things our brains cannot comprehend. To that end, the triangles were PERFECT. I’m also against having well defined “levels”, and prefer something much closer to what has been created here. unique “zones”, but really an entire space with non-euclidean geometry. Something trying to hard to look like our world, but off in the strangest of ways. The two falling scenes were major highlights. The fit perfectly with the style of horror that makes the backrooms so unique. Random moments where outer space was visible were also appreciated. The only real miss for me was the mama/baby thing. Those didn’t exactly feel like they fit in with the liminal feeling the rest of the series so nailed. The playrooms entity also wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was better. Better than most entities in standard canon lore, again, due to its otherworldliness. I liked the Emily storyline, and how it raised so many questions about the nature of this version of the backrooms, and never felt the need to give an answer. The oddity of her being. If you’re going to introduce other characters to your backrooms story, this is the way to do it. Last thing is the writing that appeared on walls and such. It was fine, but in some places it felt unnecessary. Trust your audience to get it! For example, the word “Jump!” was unnecessary. The call of the void is real. There’s already a part inside everyone that considers it. All in all, an amazing depiction of the backrooms, definitely up there with Kane Pixels (and even better in some aspects!)

I have a theory regarding this, the theory is that the main character died in a plane crash, possibly the one of 9/11, this is why we see frank mentioning it in the playroom area, this could mean that the main character was actually not on the plane itself but rather inside their home, it could be inferred that the main character is under the age of 18 due to their short height, the play room could be a memory of the exact spot the main character died, presumably, the plane could of possibly crashed right into the main characters house, killing them.the girl who lost their eyes could represent the main characters mother, this could most likely be the main characters last memory, watching as their mother cries her eyes out as they slowly close their eyes and eventually die. Hence why this character lives near a grave yard like place, this could be representing the main characters burial. Another possible theory is that frank is actually the main characters own consciousness, living on in the after life, representing the main characters desire to fix their life mistakes, these are my theories on “this is frank”.
