you've forgot about threads which is launching this week! although it's going to be interoperable with mastodon (or more accurately fediverse platforms), meaning you can follow threads users using a mastodon account and vice versa. ive been using mastodon since 2019 and every time twitter has one of its moments there's a wave of new users, most of which don't stick around. there's always a good few people who do stick around as well but a lot of people notice they don't have many people to follow and abandon it again.

a guy i know complained that he had already rate limited *3* of his accounts and how the change killed the platform. At that time it had been out for 2 hours. 2 hours. 1800 posts. 3 accounts. How the hell do you even get this far. I tried non-stop scrolling through dozens of tweets and replies for like 10 minutes straight and i couldnt hit the limit, still havent hit it but i dont use twitter much anyways seriously, unless youre like a news agency which has to view a lot of tweets at a time, 1800 or even 600 in mere hours is a lot. If i hit the limit i wouldnt even go "guh stupid change" id be like "oh god what have i even been doing the past 30 minutes"
