About that first retirement, after they won the 3rd title, costas asked MJ if he was going to retire and he said that this was having too much fun. But by the next day, they found Jordan’s dad’s body in a stream after a mafia hit. That was why he quit and went to play baseball, because that was what his dad wanted. But after 21 months he decided to come back to basketball and proceeded to win a second 3-peat. So it was 6 championships along with 6 MVP’s.

Having seen the entire careers of both Lebron and MJ, there’s just no way I see Lebron in the same stratosphere. Michael completely turned basketball upside-down, and single-handedly made the NBA Must-See TV worldwide every time he walked on court. When Michael was in the building, he owned it and everybody in it, period. Every player in the game, even in this brutally tough era, feared him like the Apocalypse, every single game. Nobody made their team win so forcefully, or defeated the opposing team more thoroughly, or made more sheer impossible nightly magic, than this guy. Lebron has never been that kind of phenomenon.

Love and respect your nonbias youngster. I despised MJ. Not only because Magic is my favorite player all-time and MJ played in the other conference but because he was too cocky and played with too much swagger for my taste. But without hesitation I proclaim him to be the GOAT. I saw young then prime MJ in person a few times and have done same with Bron and I find it laughable that they're compared. I agree 100% with Hakeem when asked about MJ vs Bron "Jordan is a far more superior player and in a tougher league." For Jordan to dominate the way he did when he played in an era with some of the greatest perimeter defenders all-time (Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Rodman, Michael Cooper, Payton, Dennis Johnson, Dumars, Pippen-in practice) and rim protectors all-time (Hakeem, David Robinson, Mourning, Mutombo, Ewing, Eaton, Parish, Rollins) is purely amazing. And lets not forget, it was an era where today's flagrant two were just common fouls. It wouldn't be fair if MJ played in today's Mary Kay DNA NBA. Cats would be in infinite load management when MJ came to combat.

Today, you’ll see one guy do one of the things that MJ could do. You’ll see a different guy do a different thing that Mike could do. I’ve never seen anyone, before or since, that could do everything that Jordan did. There is nobody like Mike.

You should check the video from when dude said to Jordan 45 isn't the same as 23. It was the playoff matchup of the Bulls and the Magic. Bulls ended up losing the series 4-2. The following season they matched up again in the playoffs and the Bulls swept the magic. That final game Jordan missed a free throw on purpose. Left his point total at 45 on 23 shot attempts
