I’m going to say this plainly.. My first games I played on pc as a kid were Dawn of war games, dark crusade being my personal favorite as a child. Fire warrior was also a favorite of mine. I have been waiting for a game like this my entire life. I’m 28 now and am starting to slowly gravitate away from video games this one has the potential to solidify me playing for years to come.

I played Dawn of War 1 because I liked RTS games like Empire at War or Command and Conquer. I didn’t understand much of the lore at the time and thought it was a bit strange as a kid, but as I grew up I appreciated the game so much more for not only being a good RTS but a game with deep lore and context that started my 40k addiction

Speaking of Multiplayer, in 2016 Bandai Namco and Behavior Interactive tried to make a 3rd person Multiplayer game call Eternal Crusade. You would have been able to play as Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Orks or Eldar. They were going to add Dark Eldar and Tau later on, but the game got shut down while in Beta testing.

Mass Effect 3 introduced it for the first time. You could jump into multiplayer games during the single player campaign, and it would be connected to the campaign and not a completely separate mode. Same as in ME3, the explanation is that you're following other characters than the protagonist, that are engaged in battle elsewhere.

I’m a big 40K lore fan. Big tabletop/hobby fan, and I CANNOT wait for this game to get so many more eyes on the franchise. I’ve already had one friend see the trailer and completely dive into the lore just off that. It makes me so happy seeing msgs pop up from him asking questions about space marine chapters and what happened when and who is who and so on. This game is dropping at a perfect time. It looks fantastic and genuine. We just had 10th edition drop last year which was big. We have SM2 dropping this year which will bring SO MUCH attention, and then 2 or so years after we are going to (hopefully) get the Henry Cavil Warhammer show. I’m very hopeful that these dominoes are falling at the right time in the right order to really blow up the franchise. I’m super pumped.

You could justify either, jump pack ala Shrike or heavy as a “Screaming Raven” (courtesy of Paul is Bad at Stuff), or even the sniper or river for their notorious stealth tactics, just find what you enjoy and carry on the Chapter’s honor, brother!

The multiplayer is a 6v6 Counterstrike style mode. With the Chaos Marines as Terrorists and the Loyalist Marines as Counter terrorists. Obviously you don't have access to Chaos Marine skins while playing on the Loyalists' side and viceversa.

I just refinished the first game, and am really hype for the second. The multiplayer for the first game was actually, in it time, quite good and played. Three class + custom loadout, a lot of skin, weapons and cosmetic to unlock, and more, like the free DLC for an PVE multiplayer mode. It look like they keep what was making the first one good, and push farther in this direction. But they also announce a season pass, some paid skin, it will lunch a few day after STALKER 2 (so not the best time of the year to do it), and we have to remember it's not the same dev team and Saber inc have never fix some bug from World War Z, which in itself is a "fine but not that great game", and have done some medium game in their history. So... let's not hope too much, but if they have learn from their past mistake and are trying to do something great, it can be really cool (after all, if we look at Relic currently, I prefer to see Space Marines 2 in Saber hands than them. I haven't forgotten DOW III, Relic). Will it be good ? I think so. Will it be great ? I hope so. Will it be another Darktide ? Maybe, I hope not. But as long as they keep the "spirit" of the first game, then I will keep my hope.

I swear they need to stop playing with us and make a warframe style war hammer 40k mmo. Not the game play of warframe, but the platform of the map and ingame maps. Such as instead of frames we collect armors and weapons. And they can even bring in races. Start with the basic three. Even chapters can be formed after finishing first founding lvl to 25 and then create your own chapter.

Absolutely destroyed people in there going 40+ kills with zero losses (when no people from god knows where had their usual 600ms ping benefit). Fun times man. I have high hopes for Space Marines 2. I am beyond excited after what I've seen so far. It looks like the wet dream of all Warhammer 40K fans. Finally we can get the look and feel of being a genetically modified 8 foot (2,4 meters) tall space marine. This game could be what you always imagine when you see the figurines. However I will not pre order the game. And so far they only have tyranids confirmed as enemies. I'd love to fight against chaos marines. The swarm technology would also work with them I assume. Oh and I can already see the hardcore fans screaming in pain when a random drops in with absolutely not lore friendly looking space marines. I can already hear someone screaming things into his headset like "Dude, your Space Marine is not supposed to be grey, having a jump pack and a orange helmet!" 🤣

My one critique is the lack of helmets on the space marines, cause like, they’re supposed to be “humble” as so far to say, “I’m the extension of the emperor’s wrath, if you see me your death is nigh.” So what’s the point of diversity in this setting? That’s not the lore of 40k in fact in lore you’d be considered a chaos worshipper and executed lol. Every chapter has its own gene seed, and all of the primarchs are essentially “white”…. Like? Huh? Diversity is for the imperial guard, “I don’t care who or where you’re from can you hold a laz gun? If so you fit to train take up arms for the emperor requires it!” Is something I’d imagine a comisar or enforcer would say. Like cmon, the theeeme. You’re literally complaining about nothing right now. “Diversity is for the imperial guard” everything you’ve said is just your feelings, nothing backed up by the lore or canon whatsoever. Other than select chapters (night lords, salamanders, space sharks, ) gene seed doesn’t greatly affect skin color. So whatever race you are is the race you will be as a space marine. Also the emperor isn’t even white, in the lore he’s described as having dark Sumerian skin. Multiple chapters have nonwhite characters and representation. You just made all this up with what made you comfortable in your head. It’s pretty damn common for space marines in visual media to have their helmets off….what a childish complaint
