The 28" rule is for charter boats only. If you are on a private boat you can take two of any size.

We're you guys fishing on a rotation? I am headed up to homer at the beginning of next month and plan on bringing my own tackle. awesome video! you have a new subscriber

Thanks for subscribing! Yes, we took turns and it worked out well. We didn’t need to bring any tackle with us, everything was provided by the guide. We just brought our own food. Enjoy your trip, it should be beautiful that time of year!

nice im from fairbanks been halibut fishing in valdez a few times. but i homer is so far from fairbanks. maybe one of these days ill fish in homer. almost 1200 miles round trip.

Yeah, that’s a pretty long haul, but Homer is a beautiful spot and a fun place to fish! Cool stuff to see along the way!

you didn't do well out of valdez? (a few other popular ports basically fish the same general area) What's nice about other places is the charter doesn't make a mega run to get out to the fishing. Valdez charters make a 60-75 mile run before they start fishing. a very good question before booking is to get the boat's cruising speed so your day isn't all travel time.

New subbie from central Alberta. Great video! What was the cost of charter?
@semi-wild-alaska6 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for subscribing! It was around $350 per person for the charter but prices can fluctuate depending on time of year.

What an amazing trip that must’ve been. What time of year was this? What was the name of the fishing charter you went on? Me and my husband want to go on a fishing charter when we go next year, and the two men looked like cool dudes. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for taking us along.

It was a really great trip! This was in early June and we used O'Fish'ial Charters and Captain Will and Charlie were very entertaining to fish with. While we didn't get huge fish, we got enough meat to keep our freezer full for a while!

Only in Alaska do we get "chickens" from the ocean.

weird. I just watched another fishing youtube guy's video last night and he's with his friends on the same boat
@semi-wild-alaska3 ай бұрын
That makes sense, there’s only so many charters to book out of Homer. Those guys are out all season! It would be interesting to know how many videos those guys are in each year!
