You can do everything you're supposed to. Call the cops, go to a shelter, get a restraining order... But sometimes they just won't stop. Sometimes they become stalkers and ruin your life for years afterward. I think Hardy shot the abuser because he knew that one day, some way, he would kill that girl. LOVED your reaction Empress. This is a hard subject to talk about, and hard to watch too. 🙏🏼💖🎶🔥🤗

I was abused in my marriage. I ran and hid in a shelter for the sake of my children because he not only abused me but the children too. After we went to court and I was granted an order of protection, I looked him straight in the eyes and told him (in front of the judge) that if he EVER touched me or one of my children again that I see him in Hell. Now, 40 years later, he will be the first to say that he still believes me. I meant it then, and I mean it now.

The laws in America are very lenient on people who are convicted of domestic violence. Sadly, many partners are killed when the abuser is out of jail.

I grew from child to aged manhood and always a country woods born woods raised among down to earth hard working hard loving men and women .when a youth a man with a truck was a buisness no nonsense independent thinking man n. And I was about 7 when I heard my 50 year old gramps say go wait in the truck. He had a way of talking low but commanding but thar te he was like ice. Well I remember walking past two near do wells when one said; there goes Ed with another of his daughters bastards. I watched through that old ford's tilt open windshield and suddenly one of those near do wells swung and hit Gramps right on jaw. Gramps just shook it off and proceeded to beat both those guys to the ground, turn and walk back to truck. Didn't say a word till half way home ; and all he said was , "DO not tell your Grand Ma" Gramps was not a tall man, maybe 5"8 but he was a burly built man yet from that day on in my eyes, my Gramps was the biggest baddest man that aer walk the woods. We seen two or three times near do well men left town near to be seen again. Word was town fathers knew deepest holes on Androscogen River. Yet their molested daughters and abused wives soon enough found jobs in town and family's never lacked a want. There are man's made up legalities, but they are overshadowed by a higher calling, "JUSTICE"!

She had been in that court room in the past, the Judge was looking at her until she said, "I never knew my day of justice would come from a Judge under a seat." the Judge in the court room looked away. I worked the streets as a LEO a few years and did many years with DOC (retiring 8yrs ago) now that I am not confined & restrained by a badge I can choose to see things a tad differently than the rule of law and the system dictate. When the system, when society fails to protect those weakest among us it is left to rough men standing outside the rule of law to do what is necessary to preserve the peace, protect the innocent, and return civility. Some times otherwise peaceful men must choose to be meaner than evil, they must do things that will haunt their dreams for the rest of their lives. Some call this "vigilante justice" but for some the vigilante is the only hope to obtain justice.

Unfortunately dude got a life sentence and logically so. He was in strange town for the first time, didn't go to authorities, didn't take her somewhere safe, and impulse killed her abusive other. I'm sure the only reason he didn't get the death penalty was because of the obvious severe battery of her and her in court statements. The police had to through the book at him.

To add to the other comments... he was not bad man, he was not an evil man... he was a man who saw a need, saw an evil and acted on that need and evil. He was a man of faith (evidenced by the court scene bridge (Oh Lord have mercy on me was not asked to the court system... it was a plea to God) and visibly evidenced by the cross hanging on his rear view mirror... was his action legal, obviously not based on the trial, was it morally just.... that is up to each individual for you cannot legislate morality... but for every victim of DV, he would be an answered prayer... and for every man... the story forces the question... "what would I do?"

The one's we love we protect them Any way we can and we will not hesitate to take matter's into our own hand's to protect. And also that guy in the video was reaching for any gun he could get ahold of too, so Hardy was protecting the Girl and himself.

Beautiful reaction. Abusers take away so much from a woman, not just cause physical pain and scars. A police officer told me, “He’s going to kill you some day.” But, they never did anything other than a slap on the wrist and a piece of paper that made him more angry and dangerous. I got away, but I feel guilty that he probably went on to abuse other women. The man in this video knew what would happen, and he chose to save, not only her, but the other victims. I have watched so many of these reactions. The reaction of the women reviewers when he approaches the door, pounds on the door, and really pounds on the door is one of the most impactful things. The way I view your reaction to this part is that those powerful bangs on the door and the base from the bangs on the door are speaking for the women. This is the point in many reactions where the ladies have the reaction you do. You all but said as much yourself "that is a real man" his actions are speaking for you.

But when he wrote the song, I'm sure that he meant any pistol under the seat. It's AD NAUSEUM by now. When Pontiac came out with their Judge muscle car, no one correlated it with the Judge pistol?

This is my favorite song with one hell of a message... I've watched alot of different kinds of people who reacted to this song a couple were good with what he did but alot say shouldn't take justice into own hands and should go to police... I 100% agree with what he did I mean be honest how often do you see a woman going to the police trying to do shit legal where they fail her and then she gets killed at least the way he went about it the evil got dealt with and the innocent has a chance at a better life. "Destroy all that is evil so that which is good may flourish" "All that is needed for evil is that the good do nothing"

The chorus line: "I never thought my day of justice would come from a Judge under a seat." A Taurus Judge pistol did what a court judge would not. I don't condone vigilante justice, but I'm sorry, some people just need killin''. This video should be a feature-length movie, like Coward of the County. The backstory could be this guy's mom died in his arms, because he was too small to stop her abuser. And the front story being this girl spent those 60 months in law school to be his lawyer and to advocate for people like him. I would pay good money to see this picture.

As a survivor of domestic abuse, I understand this video. I would never ask for my abuser to die, but I get his response because it would have been my son and husband of 20 years response. I just never told them of the abuse I endured. At the time of the abuse, I was in self destruct mode in my life. My husband (now) saved me from my own self destruction that I dealt with. Him and my children showed me how to love when I didn't feel like I was worthy of love, over the years. It didn't happen over night.

There needs to be more men who will come to the defense of any woman… and this goes vice versa too. He traded his life for hers. It’s a sweet notion because our justice system does nothing good for victims of domestic abuse. I don't think his intentions was to kill that man. But as the lyrics and video show. "I let the hammer drop before he got to the 12 he was reaching for". The man was reaching for a 12 gauge shotgun so Hardy did what he was forced to. Yes a consequence of his own actions. You can't kick a man's door in and attack him and not expect him to defend himself. Yet the most important message I take from this song and video. Is a complete stranger did what was right. Not for views in the internet. Not for glory. Sacrificed his own freedom to free a strange woman from her abuser.

One of your best reactions, Joy-Jean - and there have been many good ones. I agree with you about the law, but the law wasn’t there on what he thought the important timeframe should be. So he did what he thought needed to be done, knowing and accepting that it might cost him a lifetime. Doing this for a complete stranger was, as you said, courageous. Thank You so much... great reaction! I subbed, if you don't mind! sometimes in life, ppl should be put in their place! In my experiences with Women... when someone has been abused enough the fear in them, never ceases! Example: my Ex-wife was abused in many ways as a child and young teenager! Horrible acts... she feared that man completely (a family member)! Even tho it had been years upon years, I would hold her at night as she cried staring at the front door... swearing he'd show up! He was in prison for what he did to her... 50 years! But she knew he'd break out and come for her! As bad as my reputation is, it didn't touch her fear! I had planned intently to kill this man... I couldn't bare watching her! HE DIED IN PRISON! THAT POS... some fears never go away, some monsters never rest! At least if they're dead, the victim can sleep, carry on, start over!

I grew up with a very abusive father. I would place myself in between my mom and brothers. That’s when I found out a restraining order is jus a piece of paper some people can just walk through

Understand one major thing... the justice system fails these women more often than not. If anything he spends overnight in jail and then beats her harder the next day when he gets out.

Hardy and his friend came up with the lyrics thinking of what they would do if anyone hit their wives. That thought created the idea of this.
