Actaully in Justice league vs the Fatal Five batman can glide it's a subtle nod to the episode where he says he can't fly

The idea of Batman’s cape being able to make him glide came from the dark knight trilogy. Prior to Batman begins, when Batman needed to be in the air, wether In comics, shows, or movies, Batman would use a hang glider to fly through the air. Or go from building to building by swinging on the bat-rope. Batman begins introduced this idea of the cape making him glide, so the Arkham games made it a primary feature in the games, and since then it’s become a trademark move.

@jakeproven256 idk how you figured all this out. Batman has been gliding, without a hang glider since batman returns, were you can watch him turn his cape solid somehow for a scene. Theres also a scene on batman 89 were he might use his cape to slow his fall but idk for sure bout that. What I do know for sure is that thats just tthe case for live action batman. Cause in the comics, he s been gliding without a hang glider since 45! Using something similar to the wing suit he uses on the batman. In the 50s and 60s he uses his cape as a parachute, and in the 70s he uses his cape to slow his fall, and glide. When it comes to dcau, you can see him in a lot of scenes use his cape to control his fall with his cape but barely. On the game batman vengeance, which was based on the new batman adventures, you can use your cape to glide as well, but for a limited amount of time kinda like on the batman begins game, but ironically more realistic.
