I spotted what I am positive was a golden eagle or Mexican eagle as we call it in California. It was at Fiesta Island in San Diego, can someone tell me if it was possible for it to be there? It was like 6:00 am dawn and it was standing on a hillside facing the water. It was huge! I would say about 3 to four feet in height and has a very dark chocolate brown feather coat. Til this day I wonder if it was indeed a Golden Eagle.... I didn’t take video or pic. But in San Diego ??? Is it possible.

I agree with the guy who said it’s a myth that eagles go through a rebirth at 40-50 years and discard their feathers, talons and beak. That’s a fallacy. Their beaks and talons are keratin, like our fingernails. They grow continuously and replace the worn edges of both. Feather replacement is also a constant process. Liked the video until the end with these fallacies.

I really enjoyed this video, the footage is amazing, not just Eagles but Goshawks, Vultures, honey buzzard (I think), and Osprey. The narration sounds like it was back-translated into and out of a language with very different grammar to that used by the English language and was spiced up with a thesaurus and then recited with very unusual stress patterns. My favourite facts were about how eagles don't use their wings below 2300m (how do they get airbourne?), that a hovering (hence stationery) eagle outpaces a running hare, that eagles marry and that they break their own beaks deliberately because they are too big for them to eat with after a certain age. I don't know if this is parody or not but it was highly entertaining.
