helmets don't really help with brain damage (unless you're doing the loop or something with insane G's), they help with skull fractures EDIT: in fact the amount of times I and friends have barely avoided hitting our heads on the ground, the added size and weight to our head would have caused more hard impacts and contributed to more brain injury

If by "brain damage" you mean 'concussion' then yes...helmets do not prevent concussions...but neither do unprotected human skulls. Look, I respect your decision not to wear a helmet while skating because I don't wear one when street skating but I'm not deluding myself into thinking that it's somehow safer...because it isn't...a no-helmet impact with the ground will be more injurious to the brain than the same impact with a good helmet on...period. This reminds me of someone firing the whole deck of cards from one hand to the other through the air suggesting how much potential for card tricks they have stored up in there. This is just the tip of the ice berg of skating talents.
