Hi John, haven't seen you streaming in awhile. Hope you are well buddy! I picked up the game again during Black Friday, but uninstalled last Saturday. I have absolutely figured it out. What's wrong and what they did. They have a synchronization layer for the game that synchronizes all of the players animations to one another. Last Saturday, when they did their usual live tuning, they nerfed the RNG variables for players to lock on to other players. Meaning tackles are more rag doll animations at players rather than interacting with ball possessors, passes are more rag doll drifting away from intended receivers, and shots are more rag doll away from goal. It's akin to Call of Duty's aim assist being on RNG and then nerfing the RNG. Except you are in control of the aiming and can do manual aiming, whereas in FC you cannot. Also, the poor RNG happens in bunches and shifts from player to player when goals are scored. And it is to the point where it is near impossible to go more than 2 goals up because the RNG synchronization and AI movement is overwhelmingly favoring the losing player. Either way, essentially they nerfed the ability for their game to qualify as actual game as opposed to a casino game. I have never heard of a video game where user input passes through RNG to determine if the user input happens correctly. That is very masochistic gameplay. I am happy to point to any example of any play in this video to show that this is a correct and consistent understanding of this game. I am also happy to talk about how their game code or design must be in order to have these issues, and also how to verify that their game code is static and using Aggregation when they should have used instancing and Composition. Hey brother, yes was a away for a couple weeks, I took a break from the last previous update. It was horrible and I could barely find any matches so I was wasting my time lol But yes, ive noticed this sync layer also. I did notice the "aim assist" is no longer a thing and its a GOOD thing in my opinion. But yes, I agree with what you are saying. It sounds like they added that in for the launch and realized its not good. for the game. But again, I dont notice RNG variable give me a boost when im down, or notice it when im up. I dont get this factor at all. Everything is based in RNG and sync & colliders but I still dont feel any sort of DDA in the game. I know what you mean with RNG as the input, Ive tried to explain it on stream tons & in my content but basically if you have higher attack position or incise pass variables etc and input a through pass in which the player is onside, if those variables are "high" it will go through quickly, if they are "low" they will hold the animation and then pass when its offside. I explain it as "input delay" whenever this occurs, the devs are giving you an opportunity to "cancel" your animation. So youll notice the pro's and myself cancel, fake shot, etc in these moments of delay to retain possession.

@@JohnSims_ Sorry this is really long, but I am going to lay it all out and in order. I like your example of input delay as being extra synchronization. That's definitely a thing. But I feel it necessary to describe DDA and momentum in a more rigorous way. It is most certainly there. I've been playing since FIFA 16 (not a flex or brag). I used to play full manual on passing to compensate for garbage attacking AI. That became impossible when they enforced the synch layer for passing about 5 years ago. The synch layer has been there for awhile if not since the beginning. When playing on squad battles on Ultimate and recording the gameplay (suspiciously, they deleted instant replay 3 years ago), you can clearly see that the AI players will react to your inputs about 5-ish frames before your players even begin to animate. Thus there is a synchronization layer, as we already agree. Moreover, everything, including the opponents AI, passes through the synch layer. Even more moreover, if you consider the fact that it is possible to score on Ultimate, it must be that the AI synch to your input is on RNG. And here we get to it, everything is dictated by the synch layer and everything in the synch layer is controlled by RNG. Note that, there can be priority in animation, but it would have to be more for 50-50 like decisions, as in a dribble move jamming through a tackle. It could not be something like a green timed finish negating a tackle altogether. That would be too much exposure in game code security and promote hacking. Furthermore, green timed shots happen quicker than the network latency. (note that ping times are not the same as network latency, the network layer usually updates every 80ms-ish, for most games). Therefore, a green timed shot happening on one console can't stomp the tackle animation on another console. There would be too much conflict in resolving animations with regards to network layer latencies. Now we are getting to the meat of it. How does it determine when a player should be successful over another in clear 50-50 decisions? It must have a metric to determine correct/incorrect decisions, and conceptually-speaking, this fills/lowers a player's RNG "power-bar" (this can explain DDA/momentum, when the RNG weighted-ness gets too extreme or favors a player in a way that makes no sense, but these should be uncommon occurrences). Given everything passes through RNG synchronization, I cannot comprehend another way for coding this. Playing squad battles on Ultimate, you will notice the computer is going to score and there is nothing you can do about it, there is no decision that one can make that will change that result on that drive. Furthermore, you can clearly notice that player switching breaks, even L1 switching, and this is the first indicator that you are such a scoring drive(weird that even player switching is RNG, and should be enough to convince people it's not worth playing, imo). This for me is proof enough that DDA/momentum does in fact exist in game code. However, it also makes sense for player engagement that EA wants more close matches. It has been known that being down at half time by 1 or 2 goals and having a red card is another one that messes with RNG. Several years ago a guy figured out that the differential in percentage of possession is another (I believe he also showed that differential in passing percentage is another). The kickoff glitch is the most obvious indicator of this momentum. Me personally, I'm sure, but haven't proven, that the number of successful tackles is a huge one (makes sense why people continue to feel rewarded when tackle spamming). Btw, It's great that the community has people like you to point out the things that influence the RNG mechanics and priorities for 50-50 collisions! Especially since EA keeps it hidden. Either way, an example of what I am discussing here: Starting at 18:40 in this video, that clean tackle on Griezmann in which Griezmann is turning into the defender, yet you retain possession, shows you have an RNG edge (there is no indication that the defender was holding R2). After the next pass to Griezmann to setup the shot, the other player is clearly closing you down and will be in the correct position to block the shot. Yet there is an animation in which the opposing player takes a step backward, despite no indication that the other player changed the direction on his joy stick when closing you down (nor why would he have, that's Griezmann on his left). He even lunges in the correct direction. Actually, the step back occurs a few frames before the shooting animation begins, which tracks exactly with what I said earlier about Ultimate AI synchronization. It appears clear to me that the RNG synchronization inserted a step back to synchronize an open shot. I do not see anything that suggests that the step back was his fault. And thus, a very subtle, RNG-DDA.

@@JohnSims_ Sorry the other post was so long. I wanted to define what I call DDA/momentum. Seems like we agree on them nerfing lock-on RNG. My suspicion is EA wanted players to feel like they needed more playstyle+'s for Winter Wildcards. I saw RunTheFutMarket started playing more UFL, and even Stokes lost it on stream. It's crazy when people whose livelihood depends on this game quit, like A9Skillz and Castro. They clearly overdid it this time. Usually the terrible 'live-tuning' happens the week or two before TOTY. When they make the colliders bigger, turning up the number of collisions, and thus putting pressure on players to want TOTY cards. Seems like they jumped the gun this year.

I was a little mad at this game in this video, as ive come back, the newest update has helped significantly. THe ps4 version runs smoother since its still technically running on Fifa21 mechanics. But the problem is in content, gotta stay current for viewers etc

Glad ive come across you. Not seen many people have so much playing tutorial vidoes which is a huge 👍. I have always been a top 1% elite player on fifas up to fifa 23 in the top 3,500. But since eafc ive struggled only been a average elite player and only a rank 2 champs so hopefully i can pick up some tips .
