To my fellow Filipinos who are insisting he speaks in Filipino and criticizes his grammar: Stop this crab mentality nonsense! We Filipinos are blessed to be able to speak at least 2 languages that includes the universal language -- ENGLISH! It is the ability to communicate and connect with different people from all around the world, regardless of grammar! Jake built his pages and his following from scratch! It's his page, not ours! His house, his rules! We are free to leave if we don't like it here. I just subscribed here a few months ago and I had no idea how interested I would be in the trucker life until I chanced upon one of Jake's videos, and now I've been regularly watching his every release whenever I see it pop up in my YT feed! To Jake: just continue doing you, man! There are far more people supporting you than those few noisy crabs. Keep on truckin! ;)

I love traveling to Italy so when I first went there I researched the culture, customs and language. The language is always the hardest BUT the locals absolutely appreciate my attempt to speak it. I get treated a little better and they even help me by correcting me, and fortunately they have the patience to do that. They, being appreciative, makes me happy that we can communicate no matter how rough it is. (There's also Google Translate that helps.) I applaud you for making the attempt to speak English because even with all the minor inaccuracies in what is spoken, we understand what you're saying. Be proud that you can speak it. In Europe, many countries require children to speak at least two different languages by the time they're 15/16/17. With all the different countries being so close you pretty much have no choice. You're lucky that you can immerse yourself everyday. I don't have the luxury of being surrounded by people speaking Italian to get that kind of immersion. Next year, I will travel to Spain so I have a year to get to an intermediate level, hopefully. We got you, don't forget that. Huge hugs from me!

Bai! All I have to say is you owe no one an explanation. That's the issue w/the culture, instead of empowering each other, they bully or are spiteful of you. Honest, the problem is them not you. Tables turned, I'm an American born Filipino (my parents are immigrants) and when I would try to learn Tagalog, our own Filipino people from the motherland would call me a sellout. It puzzles me that even my own kababayan are discriminatory. That's why the culture doesn't progress forward because of that mentality. Though I do not know you, I admire that you speak English even though it may not be your first language. I also admire that you cook food that honors your Filipino culture, that you show us your family life, it's very obvious that you are proud of your culture as you should be. Anyone that bullies you or attempts to drive a wedge between your culture, your language that you choose to use, or your family should be blocked from your channel. You don't need that negativity. Besides, you are trying to grow your channel and the best way to do that is to appeal to others by a more universal language so that people can understand. If you only spoke tagalog I wouldn't be able to watch because I wouldn't understand what was going on. I’m sorry about that but if you are here in the USA the more you speak in English because the people around you. I’ve been here for 45 years now when I text or talked to my friends back home I spoke Tag-English , when I sent a messages to messenger it’s easy and faster to type in English than in Tagalog. Just ignored the bullies. That is the disadvantage of being in the social media . Watching from CA 🇺🇸

who cares what the others say? I live here in the USA for 35 years now and I much more comfortable talking in English. Others don’t understand that when you speak English 24/7 days, it is difficult to mix English/Tagalog in a sentence. You have to speak English at work and everyone you meet. People who criticized you are just envious. Truckers here in the USA earned a lot of $$$ 👍

It depends . I think a year is too long for your company to keep you. You may work a year and then a month off or so… every company is different . Ask for their company policy

He tells me he has been doing that for years and his company never have any problem letting him go and rehiring him.
