I have been making ppts for 25 years and my presentations always stood out because I kept up to date with new options in Powerpoint. 99.9% of all presentations I see on a daily basis are totally boring. Using something like in this video surely makes you stand out! So the merrit is not to search a KZbin video. It is to actually watch it and then apply what you have learned on your own project. It requires effort!

The order in which you choose the shapes determines which shape is subtracted. In this example choose the bottom Shape first and then the Oval on top. The same goes for Intersect with the Picture underneath the shape; select the image first and then the shape.

For those who can't substract, when you need to subtract selecte the triangle of the big cercle first and seconde selecte the smal cercle in the middle Than go shape format than selecte subtract ( the last chose) it's worked for me

For those who can't substract, there's the solution: Firts, convert the SmartArt to shape(Select SmartArt>SmartArt Design). Then, select the shape, and go to shape format>group>ungroup. And then, select the shapes like the video. Hope this can help to you as helped to me! :D

for anyone asked "why i can't subract it" or the merge shapes look gray and cannot click it. it is because you need to "convert to shapes" for Smart 3d Art you use (for this case, it is the that larger circle art), then you ungroup it so it will separate. hope it will fixed it, im already trying and it's fixed ;D
