Great video! I understand about customers being grumpy about payment. Some customers have been charged for parts and work before you’ve found the fault, so they feel a bit peed off. You come along and find the fault in 10 mins, good on you! You charge what you like.
@adrianrigby19332 күн бұрын
The customer is paying for the fact that you know what to fix. You have also been honest and said what the fault actually is.

Brilliant videos Ryan.. Really insightful diagnosis.. When I look back it was relatively easy in the 1960's through to 80's as electrics were quite basic on 'everyday' vehicles. Modern cars are a completely different ball game.

When making repairs with insulating tape in tight areas, get a 1/4 inch socket put it on a drill and spin tape off a roll onto the socket to make a mini roll of tape. Makes it a lot easier to wrap looms in tight areas.

Hi Ryan.Great video mate. Cou you explained how you done that please.You basically bypass the fuse .? Cheers Tim
@mrautoservices73542 күн бұрын
Hi Tim, By putting the testlamp in series with the fuse holder itself it lights up due to finding a path to ground (short) If the lamp did not illuminate it would mean a short is not present Obviously the feed side of the fuse holder has a live so when the opposite pin (output) finds a short to ground it will light up the test lamp bright indicating a short to ground is present

Great video… you should value & sell your worth. I think you should have a minimum charge and travel.. which should be agreed with by the customer beforehand. i suspect many garages would do the same.. you are not billing for what you do, you are billing for your expertise, knowledge and qualifications!!!!

Dealers dont allow customers into workshop or sometimes even prevent cutomer talking to techs , you as a mobile tech are wide open to customers , difficult for customers to understand . lot of on site trades have a minimum fee for call out and then fee for repair /service , call a gas or heating tech out !
