One option that Im considering is buying on lease and using it when I need, and also making it available on Amovens renting platform, so it can “earn” some money to potentially cover my montly pay.

Thanks Chinedu! Honestly I’m not sure, I would think not, the same way that a real estate agent doesn’t typically help with equivalent property paperwork outside of the sales contract. There are however gestores that specialise in road and vehicle related paperwork. Hope this helps!

Can the UK license be used in Spain and for how long? Can the UK licence be converted into a Spanish licence or would there be a need to pass a new driving test?

I think for up to 6 months before a Spanish license is needed. I think the DGT and DVLA came to an agreement where license exchanges are still possible

@@almir645If you are transfering it because of a change of residency to Spain you may be exempt of paying the tax, called "Impuesto de matriculación". In the case you are not exempt, it will be expensive because it is a percentatge of the car value, and this percentatge depends on the CO2 emissions of your vehicle... Cars with less than 120g/km dont pay (0%) but if your car emissions is more than 200g/km then you pay the maximum which is 14.75%

By residents parking in the green zone, do you mean residents of Spain or resident of the area where you want to park. In that case if I have paid I can park wherever I see a green zone and I don't need to go to the parking machine? Permit my stupid question, we don't have such parking systems in my home country

No problem, a very valid question! My understanding is that Madrid city residents who have their padrón address in Madrid city can use the green parking areas once they have applied for and received the resident parking permit. Outside of them, only ECO and Zero-emission vehicles can use the green spaces. Hope this helps!
