Capturing that magical moment in time. When it all fall’s together. The chase, I feel you man. New to your channel and can totally relate.

I prefer the familiar! The humdrum of a steady life. Walking, seeing, exploring and taking it slowly. You are young! Oh! Fixing your camera, was great. Bravo.

Don't worry, you'll find snow in the midwest lol. If you ever come to WA I can tell you when all the best times to visit are! I have estimations for fall colors, alpine peak flowers, bioluminescence and more :)

Thanks! I love Washington, I lived 5 years in Portland and hiked dozens of times in the Cascade mountains, and the Olympic Peninsula. Still so much left to explore. And I hope I can get some snow here in the Midwest, we definitely had some back on Christmas day, but temperatures have been in the low 60s since then haha.

Love the fog--a rare gift around here (SE Michigan in the US). Our local landscape also lacks "spectacular" features. When one is forced to find compelling images from subject matter most would ignore or find mundane, it strengthens their ability to recognize and capitalize on non-obvious opportunities. I went out yesterday, primarily near a "Rails-to-Trails" path near our house (so non-urban but not exactly wilderness--not too dissimilar from your video minus the cattle). I also got puddle reflections, melting ice and snow, rotting vegetation--whatever I found "interesting." It doesn't take transcendent talent to get spectacular shots from spectacular scenery (many KZbinrs produce great "postcards" but I prefer images such as yours). Aspiring authors are advised to "write what they know" and photographers would benefit from shooting what they know (plus it's greener).

The pandemic really made me appreciate my local area more than ever and much of my photography is now within walking distance of my house. I still enjoy visiting other locations in the UKs National parks but no longer feel I have to travel just for photography. That said I think you would love Snowdonia if you haven’t already visited, especially the old slate mining areas.

Like Jacob Gløersen, he stayed with the mundane landscapes of Eastern Norway, and was forgotten, while Peder Balke from the Lake Mjøsa Region went to Nordland and the Stetind Mountain, and is still an international star 🙂

I would be so depressed if I spent 3 months in Norway then tried to have the same level of photo experience in my hometown.

Very pleasing, relaxing video. Quote re USA: "Hopefully I will be exposed to some snow". Famous last words...
