a lot of these criticisms are legitimate but some of the times where you're talking about a 'missed conversion' seem like pretty clear burst baits to me. for example at 4:16 and 4:26, the ch j.s and 6P seem like pretty clear burst bait attempts, they even crouch after the 6P recovery is over (although baiting burst on ch 6P only works on delayed burst), and this burst bait actually works out when they jump throw and punish with a landing j.H at 4:55 which you call a 'failed massive starter'. another thing is missed conversions which are genuine mistakes which top level kys make like tyurara or dany. autopiloting ch 2k into 2d at 1:28 ultimately isn't too egregious. their runup csh afterwards is since its so, so fake, but this is passed over in favour of looking at the ch 2k conversion. This isn't an attempt to defend this person, but there are some other criticisms to note which I feel are more genuine than these which weren't noted. no cancels on the j.s at 1:14 to actually lock down quailmaster 2:55, mashing on a YRC with 2d of all buttons (maybe a misinputted throw or ds? but either option can be criticised because he doesn't need to spend burst here esp when he's up a round, and throwing that early off the YRC doesn't make sense) failed whiff punish on 2H at 3:34 complete failure of a 5k meaty at 4:26 jumping at the 5:03 wallbreak instead of doing a safejab with 5k, absolutely no idea what this forward jump was meant to call out. there are better ways to bait super, better ways to bait backdash, better ways to bait throw or up backing. this jump makes absolutely no sense. terrible meter usage in this round as well, dies sitting on full burst and tension. no whiff punish on the swordless f.s at 5:09 no note on the lack of conversion at 5:46, could have easily done j.H, land, c.s etc or even just rrced to kill no whiff punish on the 2s at 6:04 terrible habit of backdashing out of minus frames which sees them get hit by various far slashes in neutral and also a c.s at 6:24, and the backdash at 6:36 which was extremely commital if you wanted to avoid throw. another egregious example of this is at 1:13. this backdash is completely useless and does nothing. this ties into their terrible neutral, failures to dashblock such as 2:25 (that roundstart is not what dashblocking looks like, 2:30, 2:58, 3:04, 3:13 holy shit there's too many instances I'm not counting the rest, you get the idea. focusing on optimal conversions too heavily can give the wrong impression to newer players rather than a focus on fundamentals.
@GGSTFraudGameplay
@GGSTFraudGameplay 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for this breakdown! I agree with pretty much all of this! Some of these were left out because smaller mistakes like failed whiff punishes or mistimed meaties are hard to note without disrupting the flow of the gameplay too much but I agree that this lead to underselling the value of clean fundies. I also tend to overlook some of these mistakes when editing the video because I'm too focused on "making the video work well" if that makes sense, like looking for ways to segue into more constructive advice etc., as well as finishing it in a somewhat reasonable timeframe since I'm just starting out! I'm still working on the format and I THINK I did a better job on the most recent vid tho!
@oatmeal5672
@oatmeal5672 3 ай бұрын
@@GGSTFraudGameplay ah thats fair about disrupting the flow of the video, but I think a small pop-up rather than a full slowdown or screen freeze would be sufficient to remind, and if you wanted it to be humorous if you notice a particular habit you could have a little ding and a counter for like the amount of failed meaties performed. and I want to affirm that you don't need to perfectly note absolutely every one of these things, its just something to keep in mind in the future to have some cutaway segments about setups/meaties instead of all about conversions (though I will admit this is the only one of your videos I have seen so I don't know if the emphasis on combos is in your other videos or just a focus for this one)

@@GGSTFraudGameplay Ultimately that's correct. I've plateaued in games in the past, and it's usually the result of just giving up on contesting skilled players and instead moving to fight others that are closer to your skill level, that you believe that you have some chance at beating. IE low skill players and noobs. Based off of how many games he's played, it's possible that this guy could be a NEET. And that could contribute to his stagnation, since playing dozens on dozens of games over and over in a game will contribute alot to burn out and kill your drive and interest in the game, thus further contributing to just going the easy route and noob stomping. That could also explain some of his autopilot, being in that he's not especially mentally invested in what's going on and is just going through the motions. Playing in that condition will actually have the reverse effect of normal practice, in that it'll actually make you worse at the game instead of better. The root cause varies from person to person, but it's definitely bad practice.

Hey, Misto Fisto, Pot #46 here. I psych myself out of playing in Celestial a lot, because it's taxing and I don't quite think I'm good enough to hang. But I guess I'll never know unless I keep at it. On old Rating Update, Nancy was my highest elo person beaten. I see him around constantly, and he always destroys me. I always found it odd that he was there and never in Celestial. And staying like this, it would seem I'll be no better. Thanks for making this stuff. I'm gonna try to get into celestial in a bit. And, if I get in again, I'll stay there.

I've practiced many, many hours kara canceling and stuff, and my decision making is, in my opinion, decent. @@terrellregis7297 It's really hard to give good advice without going over your gameplay in detail but I think this patch is incredible for pot! It'd be a good idea to check out his new oki setups and conversions, pot has a much easier time confirming into great oki off of a lot of hits now due to the better 5H and Hammerfall knockdowns, giving you a lot more chances to really lock down the opponent into good garuda pressure! Those failed conversions are burst bait. Once burst was spent he did full combos. GS to quailmaster holding onto burst either cause he knew or he just doesn't reflexively burst on COUNTER. The rock punish was just a standard safe jump, timed to avoid most anything. I'm not sure it was actually a reaction to rock. Stun dipper at the end was SD RC. Wasn't expecting a kitty hop there and didn't react to PRC, but it wasn't a bad option.
@GGSTFraudGameplay
@GGSTFraudGameplay 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your input! A lot of the dropped conversions had a forward input during / after them so a lot of those were really just them dropping the combo straight up, there were SOME burst baits among them tho which I didn't really look out for! The rock punish was not a safe jump, safe jumps are an oki tool, not something you pull out on pressure or defense. Stundipper RC is a great option in most cases but Ram has so many options during corner swordtoss pressure that just wait for the opponent to do something before commiting that I can't really say it's a good idea in that spot, if ram waited for a jump or tried to catch a jump via microdash 2k he would have gotten smoked too.

I’m a little confused if someone could help me. At one point it says “NancyBoy is walking around as the self-proclaimed #2 Ky” but it’s only rating update that says that right? Also calling them “cheater” seems a bit overkill? That's what I learnt when I started going to locals. I knew combos and conversions better that anyone, but in the end, guys like Zed killed me because they PLAYED THE GAME, having FUN. Doing crazy shit, playing neutral. Being good at this game does not involve comboing good or confirming everywhere. It involves being unpredictable and not fearing your opponent. This channel just serves bullcrap. This is a problem, because judging by how many ppl agree with the channel here, most of the audience is newcomers, who will now hyperfocus on combos and forget about the play, which is really not right in this game.

Look, I love Kizzie's content and he's definitely great at the game but if this person played against Kizzie does not matter in the slightest. I focused on the combos heavily here because the neutral performance was just horrid and it would have been an incredibly unconstructive video if I paused every half second to remark that NancyBoy chose to run into a huge none disjointed button that's minus on block again. I also compete in somewhat bigger tourneys occasionally and In my honest opinion the gameplay showcased here was slightly above average at best. Regardless of how good they are tho, it's still scummy to essentially smurf in floor 10 with a 93% winrate to stomp new players for a big number on a third party website. If you disagree with any of this, respectfully, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I make this content to pull attention towards people like this who ruin the experience for Floor 10 players, while also being able to give a small spotlight to newer players, convey some valuable info on matchups, decisionmaking etc.

Proper decisionmaking, good footsies and fundies are the foundation of good gameplay but NancyBoy displays absolutely none of those at a top level, and even if they did the entire point is that they only play on Floor 10 to stomp newer players, so even if they are the best Ky I have ever seen I'd still push out this video because they are ruining the experience for a large part of the playerbase.

Thank you for the feedback! I actually used to dabble in guides a good bit and I do some gameplay reviews for friends etc. and I'm already considering expanding the channel to cover that stuff a bit but I don't know when I'm gonna tackle that! As for how they ruin tower, this video actually doesn't manage to convey this well enough but these players actually win a whole lot on floor 10, their winrate is usually in the 90%'s which is nuts and should immediately get them into celestial but they just never attempt the challenge! So their main way of ruining tower is stomping most players in lower floors on purpose and then most of these players also disconnect when they are about to lose on top of that!

@@sea_otter_h Yes there is actual proof, they have played on Celestial regularly before starting the F10 grind. Whenever you reach a certain amount of wins (5 games won out of 6 games in total) the game will promote you to do the celestial challenge (which is not too hard once you're at a roughly intermediate level, maybe a bit better?) After the challenge is done you can stay in celestial for the month before it gets reset. For reference these players have at the very least ~2000 won rounds on celestial, 1K whole games minimum probably or else their level would be completely unobtainable, experience gain on Floor 10 becomes horrendous after ~Lvl100. Just to be clear with this one, if you only played on F10 for 10 years straight you would probably still not reach level 1500, the game has been out for 3 years now.

@zabatasd9461 It's not that they don't care about improving, they have already improved way past the point of playing on Floor 10 which should be kind of obvious with a winrate of 93%. The point of this video is to bring attention to how people like this ruin the experience for legitimate Floor 10 players because they barely have a chance to win and when they actually get close these players will just pull the plug and disconnect.

The fact his n2 on ky's leaderboard just proves how much of a joke is ggst points and tower system.

If everything you do in a game is morally justifyable just because you bought it then cheating, smurfing, insulting people in voice or textchat and plugging should also be fair game. This player is literally doing at the very least 2 of the things I listed there. Games have etiquette and if you would rather punch downwards all day and pull the plug if someone somehow gets even close to beating you then go ahead and do that but don't expect anyone to respect a pathetic display of poor sportsmanship like that.

in your video i don't see this player doing any of the behaviours you just described in this comment. All I saw was you doing a great job at explaining situations in a match this player should have exploited more. And that's completely fine. Also, there's no etiquette or rule in ggst that forces you to play in celestial ever. As I said before, no sane newbie is ever going to play against someone with 1590 points on floor 10, so I don't think there's any sort of gatekeeping happening either.
@GGSTFraudGameplay

There's definitely etiquette around playing at the Floor where you belong and not constantly beating new players when you could actually have fair games in celestial and it's obvious when you look at the reception of this content. If people didn't have a problem with this behaviour there would be a lot more people defending it. And "sane" new players definitely match with this person, if it was rare they wouldn't be able to crank out dozens of games every single day and if the matches were fair they wouldn't have a 93% winrate. FYI reaching that high of an elo is impossible to do accidentally, they very obviously do this on purpose.

@@GGSTFraudGameplay again, there's nothing this ky player is doing that can be considered cheating. He can't force a newbie to match with him since ranked is a lobby. So basically, and this is a thing you'll notice sooner or later, the gap between Floor 10 and Celestial is massive! It's so massive in fact that so many players get stuck beating the average Floor 10 but then getting washed in every celestial challenge that there's a community term for it, Floor 10,5. This Ky player is probably an around average celestial, possibly slightly below average because of their bad habits they solidified by only playing in Floor 10. They are not horrible at the game but definitely far from what most would consider to be "GOOD good" if that makes sense. The reason their Elo is so high is that by playing on Floor 10 they have farmed up an incredible winrate (due to the gap I mentioned) which the system that calculates rating doesn't really deal with properly, the RatingUpdate system uses the glicko-2 algorithm to determine your rating. Glicko-2 is used in other competitive games, Counterstrike actually uses a modified version of it! I assume since this algorithm was designed to be used in games where you can't really choose the level you play at it naturally doesn't really do well when rating people that farm Elo against less skilled players.

I mean hours =/= being good and in one replay alone u pointed a lot of mistakes one can make in a match so i doubt this ky is that good to be in celestial reliably. As in other games ive seen people put ridiculous amount of hours into smth just to end up not being really that good, and tower isnt a place where win rate and matches played should dictate players skill lvl You talk about etiquette but as far from talking from others in the past the only standard ur held to is "do not dc" "play bo3 at the least" and "have good ethernet connection". Everything else is fair game You also comment on their #2 placement is weird considerjng this is my first time hearing about them and the first time ive even heard a mention of such a ky. Prob cuz ggst ranking arent taken seriously when looking at good players. You compare this also to smurfing but for ex. if i smurf in league do my opponents have a choice to avoid playing against me? smurfing also usually is results in tanking ones own ranking to play with people who are in iron in that case. The comparison to smurfing seems really weak and anybody who has played against smurfing prob knows that this isnt what smurfing is, nor is it cheatings in any way as they can deny to go into celestial for whatever reason, the game gives them an option and they chose one, i dont see them being toxic in any way either via vc or text chat, im sure you can act show players like that who put down and look down on other players as fair game. Everyone that this ky chooses to battle can refuse for whatever reason they want, whether its "this ky is way to good", "idt i can match up to them", "hmm enough ky for today" or whatever. If people accept the match against such a player they know what they are getting into ... if i go into celestial for the first time and fight hotashi for ex. and i complain about how one sided it is, is it their fault i willingly went and found them, challenged them, accepted, and played to a bo3 set?
@GGSTFraudGameplay
@GGSTFraudGameplay 3 ай бұрын
In case of the etiquette you consider to be valid they regularly break 2/3 rules in that case! Anyways, yes people can refuse matches, that doesn't mean that anyone really knows what they are getting themselves into when accepting that match. I'm pretty sure if people knew that they were about to get utterly stomped and if they barely manage to squeeze out a win they'll just get dc'd on this player would barely find any matches. As for them maybe not beeing good enough to actually win in celestial I honestly don't know what to tell you. Anyone that has played GG for a little while should know that a level of 1600 is realistically unobtainable if you don't play in celestial a bunch. They also have A LOT of recorded wins in celestial that are tracked by the ingame stats, RatingUpdate didn't pick those up because they started playing in F10 ages ago.

@@GGSTFraudGameplay I mean i was expecting "if i lose im dipping" type of bo1 but it seems even if they win 1 or 2 they leave which can be chalked up to connection issues from the other person and i see a decent amount of games that go several sets long with losses in between them so i doubt they are just farming by going to each person and if they lose they leave. 4 days ago in your first video you say they have 0 games there. Seems like this person just doesnt like being in celestial for whatever reason, maybe they dont think they are good enough to be there If i face someone with 15 billion points and im like having like 100-200k, im going into the match knowing that "im prob gonna get stomped". Its like if i face someone who is lvl 250 in floor 8 while being lvl 70 myself... im prob going in knowing this person has lots of more experience than me. I can easily see the lvl, the players stats, or just their match history if i go on rating update and see what im getting into. I doubt this is some matchmaking where ur forced to accept it. so far you posted losses... if they dc whenever they they barely squeeze out a match it would contradict what we see in the video. If one can prove it that they are dc'ing their close matches then sure, but so far no proof besides supposedly it happening (as idt rating update shows dc'ed matches)
