6:52 I have been to Kerala ( South of India )where there are elephant rides like these but then we went to see where and how they were kept, it was awesome, there were so many guys taking care of them, and they had the whole forest to eat. You may think that they are abused by looking at them but maybe they arent abused. Elephants have been domesticated in India for thousands of years just like dogs. They are also considered holy in the Hindu culture. A human sitting on the elephant is so light weight to them that they wont even feel much.

When we visit a country we mostly start from the Capital and go from there. We complain about the chaos but we actually liked it. Its super interested to us and challenges our perceptions. Next time we visit India we will check out the South. Thanks for watching!

Should they charge 300-500 rupees to allow you to take a pic at that stepwell? One thing I will say is that the well is cleaner, so maybe it helps with the esthetics, but if they charge, then they can have maintenance upkeep.

The elephants used for these guided tours are actually very well taken care of. They are fed, washed, and care for with a lot of love. Every single elephant rider here takes the responsibility to keeping the well-being of their individual elephants very seriously. I can say this because this city has been my home for over 30 years and I've spent enough time and energy with several organisations and the government of Rajasthan to ensure these elephants aren't exploited. Having said that, ALL ANIMALS should be in the WILD and FREE. I don't like them being used for these little tours at all. But please don't spread false information about how they are treated here. Give it as a disclaimer that it is your personal opinion, not as a fact. Lastly, quiet a few things stated by you guys in the video isn't true/factual. I believe that is your acquired knowledge from locals who aren't well versed in english and would rather just agree with you than struggle to explain the history and culture. Eg: That wasn't Goddess Shiva. You should read up on Shiva if the culture does interest you. And you will be left mind-blown about all the deities, including Shiv and Kali, that a majority of Indians worship. PS & Most importantly: Thank you for capturing the beauty of the amazing Pink City :)
@duosdreamКүн бұрын
Hey! Thanks so much for confirming that, we’re happy to hear it. We didn’t think that they were treated bad actually, we just don’t agree with tourists riding them. The comments were more directed to the tourists than the locals - they should know better and have the education behind them to not support it. We stayed with a family in Jaipur for many days who explained the culture in detail to us and we learnt a lot. This video was filmed on our first day of arrival in Jaipur haha! Anyway, thank you for watching from the beautiful Jaipur! ❤️

Same deal with horseback riding, and camel riding, same deal. Elephants can hold a lot more (like more than double the amount of a horse can by weight).
@duosdream3 күн бұрын
They can but the process to do that is to change the structure of their skeleton in a process called crushing. We always used to think the same until we visited an elephant sanctuary and they taught us about it ☹️

6:04 Animas are being used for human purposes since ages in India,in history there used used to be war elephants which used to wreck havoc over enemies,even in temples they are used for various rituals ,and all these purposes gave rise to a whole community in various part of India called mahouts who were basically associated with Elephant,,I appreciate ur concern regarding selfish use of animals by human and the pain they had to bear for this but the real world is very harsh u know we daily drink milk of cows for which they are constantly subjected to pregnancy nd upon that people also kill them and eat them,,,,,u see majority of the people in the world are hypocrats they claim to love animals be it dog or cat or horses and the next moment they eat chicken,cow,pigs,goats,fishes etc,etc,I think pain shouldn't be discriminated based on ur favourite animals isn't it,

just like we have domesticated dogs...these are domesticated elephants... the take care of them and feed them like their children...just like how ppl take care of their dogs or cats. If domesticating elephants is bad then having any other animals is just as bad.

Dogs and cats aren’t wild animals, that’s the difference here. We also wouldn’t condone owning a tiger, leopard, sloth etc as a pet … similarly, if we had a dog, we wouldn’t enter it for pet competitions or breed it to make money for ourselves. Anyway, thanks for watching! 😊
