A lot of the Koeman hate I see online should be redirected and can be attributed to the higher ups of the club honestly, some bad luck too. In one year let lost Suarez, Messi and Griezmann, got Aguero would sadly never really got to play and this year the squad was so thin to start with they were overworked and got injured, resulting in a vicious cycle. And for a while the results weren't that great with Xavi, you can see a clear mark off starting from February after the club direction finally got some great signings and the team is able to rotate. I still believe Xavi to be a better coach, we will see over time but I too often see people compare February March Xavi Barca to September to November Koeman Barça, with a closer team (December - January) you can see Xavi still struggled and wasn't multiple times over better than his predecessor. Hopeful for the future and respect to Koeman dealing with the shit situation he found Barça in

The transfer planning has been amazing. Just look at the right wing. Dembele and Traore are both players who thrive when given space. So an overlapping full back would start to eat into their space. So Barca got Alves back but because alves is older, he doesn’t overlap anymore. But alves passing is elite and he can underlap into midfield and allow short pass buildups. This means that the team can play quick balls to Traore and dembele in space. And Ferran is an amazing link player. Look at his passing stats. So then the team builds on the left with short passes, pulls in the defence, then switches to the right for Dembele and Traore in space

Usually, the centre back defends deep as they are scared of aubameyang’s pace getting in behind. This gives space in “the hole” in front of defence that aubameyang drops into and Eric Garcia and pique find him with those passes. So then the centre backs start to follow aubameyang into the hole, and that leave a gap behind which frenkie or Gavi have been running into. It’s a nightmare for opposition centre backs. Hold deep and you’ll invite pressure from Barca midfielders. Stay static and you give the ball to Aubameyang. Push up and you risk a long ball over the top to Gavi or Frenkie.

For the last two games Barcelona play great with Pedri. If Pedri does not play the Barca plays bad. Dependency on one player is calamity. It's clear that Barcelona will be going for the triple next season. This season they will lift the Europa League trophy. I wish it were still half of the season, then most certainly they will have lifted the La Liga as well. They are by miles the most improved team in Europe. The moment I learned Xavi was coming, I knew the real deal, Barca's DNA was coming back. Thanks to him for keeping up with our high hopes. I think the problem for Koeman was the change of leadership, the financial mismanagement, injuries and the loss of messi. He didn't get any new players and lost a lot of talent. So he went back to barca roots and got young talent and went rebuilding. Problem is that is your chairman is constantly threatening your position you lose the locker room fast. As rebuilding isnt an option in the public opinion. I'd love to see what would have happend if he had a healthy team, could transfer 1 or 2 players to his liking and support after this season of letting young players learn how to play on this level. but Xavi is doing great. But both have Barca DNA founded by Cruyff.

While I’ll have loved to agree with this based off the circumstances you’ve just presented, I’m inclined to disagree because he also had issues with communication with the players and that was very evident. His tactics were not so great as players didn’t understand their roles and that’s very evident from the way we play now compared to that period. The lack of communication + mediocre tactics + fitness & injuries = poor results Poor results + Blame-shifting to the players = Loss of dressing room + Loss of board + Loss of faith of fans Loss of faith from fans = Low tickets & Merch Sales Which is bad for business Bad for business = Panic & impatience from board = Koeman’s sacking 😊

It actually seems pretty straight forward to counter this, Just attack through the wings as early in the game as possible to condition both full backs to be more concerned about defending. If you do what Real Madrid did and basically what every team in la liga does to big teams which is defend and look for a counter then having 8 Barcelona players on your field since the start attacking restlessly, you’ll never find a way out because the second you do you’re automatically exposed and out numbered.

Barcelona’s Only tactic is high press, and creating space for a 1v1, Barcelona can not defend and it’s been shown time and time again even when playing against the bottom of the league, by attacking Barcelona you automatically destroy their whole game plan but of course there is only very few teams that would commit to that kind of risk. Therefore you get defensive teams getting demolished such as Atlético and now Real Madrid. People say that Benzema would not have made a difference but they’re wrong considering Madrid’s attack depends almost 100% on the spaces Benzema creates, no space= useless speedsters such as Rodrygo, Vinicius, Valverde, Bale, etc.

There's 3 reasons for this first busquets get additional support cause because him being slow meant 2 or 3 players pressed him at the right time he lost it and dani alongside him meant they can't do the same because they leave to much space for us then and there press doesn't work. Second dani in the midfield not only gives busquets support but he acts as a extra man in midfield and him playing there gives us numerical advantage and we can have a short pass buildup with him in there . Third reason is that from the dm role he can provide long crosses either to the wingers or to pedr or fdj/gavi if they make forward runs into the box even at 38 yrs old he has one of the best crosses in the team and can consistently provide a good cross. Alba does something similar and honestly it's genius how xavi implements him before alba would go to the left flack and spam the ball in the box how many times was the cross bad cause he got contested more then I can count. With xavi u r getting a new way to attack nearly every game there freekick patterns r so mixed and not the same lazy old cross in the box and there corners they have a few different patterns as well from corners. Xavi is a genius and I haven't enjoyed football in a long time like this cause the way barca play is the style of football I enjoy the most to watch its literally a joy to watch and u don't want to miss a minute of it.
