Gau learns the monsters in the formation you Leap on, and the monsters in the formation where he successfully (as in, you didn't scare him off) returned. But if there's anything in between, he does NOT learn those! What must've happened was, while Phil was thinking you only learned what you Leapt on, Gau must've returned after he Vanish/Doomed a previous Intangir (because we all know Phil would never be able to beat one of those without that glitch), and Phil must've forgotten that happened. Source: Djibriel's Rage Guide on Gamefaqs. Also, I don't know why Phil wanted Intangir so much. All it does is Pep Up/Transfusion. Which is very bad. Trying to Mute Gau beforehand doesn't work so well either, cause the game will forget to apply Intangir's statuses if it then tries to Pep Up on the first turn. It's kinda...not the most useful Rage, sadly. Game devs trolled us on that one. 1:49:45 See, I have trouble believing this is the first Desperation attack Phil got. Because Phil's a) a big fan of this game, and b) stupid, I'd think he got a bunch of them to save his dumbass bacon when he was younger. For a lot of people though, it'd be a rare event, yeah, since the smart thing to do would be to heal or try to tear through the opponent in a more consistent way, but this is *Phil* we're talking about, so yeah. 1:52:45 Here's an idea: Equip a Jeweled Ring or Ribbon before doing that bit. In fact, in general, what I like to do is equip a Ribbon and Black Belt (for the Scorpion guys, you almost certainly will counter at least once in those fights, saving time in the process), and then at the level you're at, you should still be able to kill the HermitCrab (Rock guys) and PmStalkers in one hit anyway. 1:53:15 Dude, what are you talking about? Removing an Earring to make room for a Jeweled Ring/Ribbon won't lower the damage you deal enough for it to be an issue! HermitCrabs/Zokkas only have 305 HP! I specifically looked it up for you. You were doing, what, 1000 before swapping away the Earring? Even half of that would've been enough, and it's not true that it'd halve your damage. More like reduce it by about 20%. 1:55:30 HR Giger influence? Hmm...I guess I can see what they mean here. Though I think the Phyrexians in Magic: The Gathering are more like his works.

PS1 FFVI... I know it's the worst version, but it's still the one I hold the dearest, because it's the first one I played (my older brother never wanted to lend the SNES, the PS1 was my first console with the N64). I love this game regardless of version, I enjoy almost everything in it and love the world built for it. This is one of the best RPGs ever made even to this day. And yep, as you typed early video... both Celes and Kefka are magitek knights, Kefka was the first one to undergo the procedure and, well... see the results? Celes was infused when she was a toddler. Something that adds more fun to the trivia: Kefka is presumably the most powerful of the two, whether by his insanity or his infusion being botched is never fully revealed, and Celes' natural magic pool is always lower tier than Terra's despite learning normally at the same level. Made more apparent at LV99, when Terra learns Ultima naturally and Celes learns Flare. I say Kefka's results of the infusion are never quite revealed because he never fights you directly at full power until the final battle, where he already is a god. 56:00 yep, you *can* figure it out by speaking to every NPC and take notes and figure it out. I actually did at the time because my brother told me the clock is mandatory, I didn't have a guide so I used a sheet. I don't remember my notes but yes, basically every time you get is the same for every NPC and every answer leads back to 6:10:10 or 6:10:50, so it's not process of elimination.

I finished the game recently, just came by to see what messed up things has to say about this game... Luckily not much, but he made several mistakes about Gau's rage learning mechanics, or how to spawn the Death Gaze, and also, Celes level 50+? How much did he grind with her? I played with growth egg on some characters to spread levels evenly and took time to level Terra and Celes up learning basically all spells and yet didn't reach 50! Heck, my Sabin was one level or two higher than her, 47 I believe! Aand here when I comment I get to the Kefka cult tower and the clown world begins.

DSP is streaming online, *pretending to be the master at playing videogame.* Using a strategy guide to solve simple puzzle is not a display of skill or intelligence to the public, especially when he's using it to bash game design and excuse his horrible gameplay. Strategy guide is not used often while streaming and commentating. Those are for planning out the project and practicing gameplays. The only few times people cite and credit the guides is when they're trying something extremely difficult and precise, like getting 100% Social Link in Persona 3 or catching all Pokémon in a Pocket Monster game.

Sorry, I'm a stickler for getting Final Fanatay Jobs correct lol. As for the Desperation Attacks, I got one in my first play through and killed one of the 8 dragons with it. There's no WAY that he's played the game multiple times since its released and not gotten it before. My bet is he's played it once before at most. DSP playing FFXIV PERIOD would be a shitshow. There's no way he's coordinated enough to get through Sastasha without being kicked from the group let alone any Savage content. Honestly I'm surprised he even beat this game to begin with.

It is entirely possible he never saw it despite having played through the game multiple times. That was the case for me. I grew up with this shit and didn't get one of those attacks until years later. I guess the thing is that you only get one of those attacks when a character is at super low health and you choose the Fight command. Which is something that you wouldnt do in most situations since you're either gonna be healing your character or using that characters special ability or magic.
