Gotta have that move in your arsenal. It shows false strength when a monster hand is possible on the flop. It does t work when the board is dry as it shows a monster hand if you do.

So what if they’ve been playing for a while and this Schutten guy was check raising then folding at a decent frequency, the shove wasn’t so bad because while it’s true, you don’t usually get called by worse but he probably does get hands with a lot of equity against him to fold

The question is why are you shoving? Makes zero sense. Are you trying to rep the flush and push out higher kicker ace? Are pushing out the flush draw? You cannot feel like you're good on the turn how the hand has played out. I understand the check raise flop to check turn is what induced it but there's no good reason to shove on the turn.... Such a huge raise from the villain that you gotta figured if they're on the drawer they'll call. If they have a better hand then you they'll call because they committed a huge size of their stack already. You aren't pushing out the semi bluffs. The turn doesn't look like it improved anyone's hand since you also have the blocker that improved for hands that made the turn. That all in turn, all it's doing is making your opponent fold against MEDIOCRE spade or someone trying to bluff the flop. That's it. Which you wouldn't want to do BECAUSE YOU HAVE SHOW DOWN VALUE. if you don't improve on the river, you will most likely check. If you're opponent has a monster hand THEY'LL MOST LIKELY CHECK THE RIVER TRYING TO TRAP AND BET ANY VALUE BET, WHICH YOUR HAND CAN CALL. I cannot find any good reasoning to shove on the turn other than to push out your opponent ON HANDS YOU BEAT ALREADY.

​@@imwatchinberniemache doesn't beat much THAT WOULD CALL YOUR SHOVE. Are you serious? There's no hand he beats that calls that shove. So it has to be a bluff shove. Which still doesn't make sense since your hand has show down value and you have position. Your opponent also is pretty committed so will most likely call the spade draw or higher kicker ace. Pair 5 nor pair 8 calls your shove. I don't see any value on that shove when he had way more value getting to a show down.

​@@RedezBashseriously that's one of the weirdest shove I've seen how the hand played out and especially he had position. Maybe if he had a higher spade like at least 10, J or Q of spade would make the shove make more sense.... With such a weak hand on that board, it is better to navigate your hand into a cheap showdown by the amount of chips you both put in. Especially since you're in position.

What r u horrible lol if u put him on nothin but a spade and think u gotta soul read which is what I think he was doing u still should fold some semi bluffs beat u like the semi bluff hands you just mentioned. Did not see the whole hand from the table. Don't know if anyone else folded an ace. Quad Aces is actually the nuts, runner, runner won't be easy.
